Fleur Isabelle Delacour is a French, quarter-Veela witch who attended Beauxbaton’s Academy of Magic. She was an elder sister of Gabrielle Delacour and was raised by Monsieur and Apolline Delacour.

Fleur was Beauxbaton’s Triwizard Tournament champion. She competed gallantly, although the Tournament ended in calamity at the death of Cedric Digory and the return of Lord Voldemort.

Fleur had a job at Gringotts Wizarding Bank when she first started dating her co-worker Bill Weasly. The pair became engaged in 1996.

The couple married in 1997 and have three children named Victoire, Dominique and Louis Weasly.

This shocking revelation has just arrived to us. A Time Turner, secretly owned by the Brazilian government, has been taken by a mysterious thief. It was taken one week ago, but the Ministry of Magic did not want to spread the news as it would show the world they still had this dangerous and very rare magical objet. They wished to find the thief quickly and resolve the matter but failed. They have announced this to the world and asked all countries to participate in this manhunt.

If this Time Turner is not found, the consequences will be terrible. Who knows at what end the thief might use it? Throughout history, incidents with Time turners have always been very serious and lately their use was banned and most of them destroyed.

 In Britain, Hermione Granger famously used one during her third year at Hogwarts to attend more classes. With the help of Ron Weasley and Harry Potter, she used it to save Buckbeak the hippogriff and Sirius Black, then an Azkaban escapee from a certain death.

 The entire stock of Time-Turners, located in the Time Room, in the Ministry of Magic were rendered useless during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries in 1996. While not "destroyed" per se, due to the way one of them fell when their counter was knocked over, the entire stock was trapped in an endless loop of falling over, un-falling, and then re-falling, in an endless cycle for all eternity, and are thus unable to be used.

All efforts are being put in tracking this fugitive but diplomatic relations between Great Britain and Brazil are already very strained because of this incident. Indeed, our Minister of Magic has made a speech about how disappointed he is in the fact that Brazil has been hiding this object for many years, discarding international wizarding law. He further added that the Time Turner is a powerful weapon and gave a strong advantage to the country or person who has it in case of grave international conflict.  He deplored that security surrounding the object was not tight enough if the Time Turner had been stolen and that if it fell into the wrong hands, he felt that Brazil was completely guilty.

We will be monitoring the situation closely and hope this object is found without any further problems.

Sunday... Oh I love Sunday. Seeing all those students rushing to the library, trying to quickly make their homework, which is probably due tomorrow. Me and my friends mostly sit on our ass in the library, watching the students whilest eating popcorn (which we got from the house elves). 

You probably wonder why we aren't rushing and quickly trying to write super long essays on whatever potion Slughorn told us about in the past lesson, well, we Hufflepuffs have our own way of making homework.

Every Saturday we sit in the Hufflepuff dorm, helping eachother with our homework. We have this 'scheme' of telling who helps who. I'll write it down for you.

2nd years help 1st years, 3rd years help 2nd years, 4th years help 3rd years, 5th years help 4th years, 6th years help 5th years, and 7th years help 6th years. Now, the 7th years also get help, but not all the time. Some House Elves do know a lot, but most of them just bring food and drinks to our tables, which we offcourse thank them for.

Like I said in my previous column, me and the other hufflepuffs, mostly my even crazier friends, are in the Christmas spirit allready. 

Well, this week we convinced Hagrid to put the Christmas trees in the Great Hall one month earlier. The teachers glared at us the next morning but I also saw some of them smile.

Hagrid also provides us with food, by the way, which we offcourse eat. But later regret eating.

Spells - Expelliarmus

Who has never heard about this spell? Even if we’re not in war time anymore, it’s still very useful to know how to cast properly.

First, a bit of history. The spell is rumored to have been created by Merlin himself but some others claim it began to spread in Madagascar during the XI° century. However, the expert Miranda Goshawk said it was most likely invented by one of its most famous user: Elizabeth Smudgling. Indeed, she used the spell during the finale of a dueling competition held in Dartmoor in 1379 and was awarded the title of “Supreme Dueler”. 

But this is not where it stops. We can all name one duel which marked our era forever: during the Battle of Hogwarts Harry Potter used the Expelliarmus charm against Voldemort. The dark wizard cast the Killing Curse but, by the mysterious ways of wandlore, our national hero was able to defeat him with this simple charm and ending years of war. Later on, it was reported Harry Potter had already defeated Voldemort with this spell years before in a lost graveyard right after his return. Defeated is maybe a big word as what actually happened was a magical connection called Proiri Incantatem. This happens when two wands with the same core are forced to batle with each other. This magical connection was pretty impressive and it gave Harry Potter enough time to escape.

The hero being such an expert on the spell, we asked him to give us a few tips and he kindly answered us:

“I know it’s pretty basic but I’ve found it really useful. I don’t really have a specific technique for it, it comes almost naturally. But something very important I think is not to panic and believe in yourself. And having a nice and clear wand movement always helps I guess.”
