Troubleless
i opened my eyes
to see the caramel skies
that i don’t think i deserve
i pressed my forehead
against the window
i took back the breath you took away
i fell asleep
with a prayer on my lips
that i learn to love this peace
because,the trouble is
i have trouble being
troubleless
(day twenty-three- trouble)

In between her sobs she attempted to salvage her dignity, she refused to allow this to be the way he would remember her. “Why couldn’t you love me?” Came out in place of, I loved you. “Why did you use me?” She said instead of, I wanted to make you happy. “Why wasn’t I enough?” Unfortunately, she had said what she had intended and so he replied. “You wanted to be wanted so bad that it didn’t matter who wanted you. You never wanted me, you just wanted to be needed. How could you be enough when you were so selfish?” In between her sobs she attempted to salvage her dignity, she refused to allow this to be the way he would remember her. “Go away. Go away and never come back. I hate you!” She said, meaning though; please go be happy. I’m sorry for having been so selfish this whole time. Just once, just this once, I won’t think about myself. So go. He walked away, leaving her sobbing, on the ground alone. And yet, somehow, content. Somehow satisfied. “Please, forget me, if this is how I am to be remembered.” She spoke at the man disappearing on the horizon.

She left. Instantly, swiftly, yet with apology. The world kept spinning. Police still wrote tickets, baseball fans celebrated their team winning, the president drank freshly brewed coffee from the hands of his assistant A lover knows that there is love in persistence She was not a lover She was the one who stabs in the back An enemy Because love keeps the world turning But she made it stagnant and black.
