Posting only what I deem the best shots, is probably good for marketing, to show my best skills, and to get people to hit the like button. But often it may not tell the best story, show how much I failed getting to today, or bring into it the realities of daily life. This shot taken at steamer alley in Santa Cruz, happened quite by accident as I was playing with the idea of capturing the surfers with a little of the fence for a foreground. As I panned left I saw this guy taking a photo in a different direction. It could have been of a friend or maybe just a scene he liked, but I immediately thought he was facing the wrong way. Quick judgement of something I knew nothing about. It's this lack of perspective that we make decisions on, some bad some good, all the time. We fill in the gaps when there is unknown, we provide a narrative when there isnt one given, we naturally take what we know and believe ourselves. Even when we dont have the actual knowledge. Maybe I missed something important and by jumping to conclusions, ruined the moment. Or could it be that I actually captured a true moment without knowing. I think it is really important to review some of your decisions, made in haste, made to please an audience, or that dont stay true to yourself. #emformdesign #creativewriting #mythoughts #postreallife #santacruzlife #candidmoment https://www.instagram.com/p/BvkxcdcBpPz/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1oty2gopmyx76
