So yesterday marked the official beginning of the Harmattan season here. Itâs âcoldâ and it really is . . . relatively speaking.
Like itâs in the 70s right now.Â
Iâm visiting my host mom right now and yesterday she saw I was wearing the same things I was wearing when I got here. She asked me if I researched the weather before I came here and if I had brought warm clothes with me.
I tried to explain I wasnât cold. I tried to show her pictures of snow. I tried to explain that it gets cold enough where Iâm from that you can freeze water without a freezer.Â
But she doesnât understand. There are motorcycle drivers out right now wearing winter jackets. They are all so cold. And Iâm just excited to not be covered in a thin layer of sweat all the time.
