i'm really bad at coming up with prompts so i'm just grabbing some from a random prompt list i found. Can you do "Why are you crying?" "Just smile, I really need to see you smile right now" with any boy you choose!
Honey! I love those prompts tbh
Okay so today I kinda outlined something and I thought fuck it I’ll do a one-shot and then thought fuck it you’re gonna take forever and you promised to yourself (and to the wonderful people who send you requests) that you would write. So... here’s my attempt at a blurb, I’ll do a reader-insert bc i don’t know how else blurbs work. UPDATE: I ended up doing a one-shot, don’t mind me.
Calum had said he’d be at your place in a few. It gave you time to refresh the website you’d been staring at all day. This literary magazine had was going to publish the winning short story. A lot of people had submitted their writings, you being one of them. Calum had always been your biggest fan, even before you’d started dating. He thought you were creative and had a clever way to express ideas in a story format.
He was as excited and nervous as you were. And also supporting in a way of reassuring you that, if by chance, you didn’t win, it didn’t mean you weren’t good. Because you were.
When he opened the front door of your place with his copy of the key, he was surprised to see you sitting on the floor. Leaning against the wall, your eyes glued to the laptop that rested on your legs.
“Hey?” Calum tilted his head, worried. He closed the door behind him, as he watched you wipe the tears off your face with the backs of your hands. “Why are you crying?”
He knelt beside you, dropping a bag of takeout -your favorite- and rested a warm hand on your shoulder. “Love? What happened?” he whispered.
With shaky hands, you gestured towards the screen that lit up your face inside the dark apartment. Calum narrowed his eyes.
“Fuck!”
You kept wiping at your tears as Calum’s frown slowly turned into a smile.
“You got it? Fuck! You won! They published it!” he grabbed your face and peppered you with kisses all over. “You silly, silly- why are you crying? This is great news!” he was so excited, happy and proud of you that he’d started shaking your shoulders so you could react. “Just smile, I really need to see you smile right now."
His glow was so bright you could finally breathe again. “Fuck,” you let out a trembling breath, giggling. “Fuck!”
“I am so proud of you! You deserve this!” Calum kissed your lips tenderly and then plopped back on the floor, right next to you. “Takeout to celebrate?” he grinned as he fumbled through the bag to get the food.
You watched him, all smiles. He really was the best. “I love you,” you whispered, closing your laptop and setting it aside.
Calum turned his head, his eyes beaming. “I love you, too.”
