Trying to research on post-conflict stuff on the effects of reparation programs after civil wars in other countries and all I can find is stuff on WW I to excuse fascism and arguments against reparations in the US... Internet I don’t need this I need to fill up my 6 page paper...
Colombia's Peace Negotiations
I'm immensely glad, and proud of the huge step the government and the FARC just took towards peace. There is still a long way to go. I wish that I could make part of it. I wish I could be there for those who were victims of a 60 year old conflict. This is new step into the right direction. There's still a long way to go, but I do believe that peace is possible, and it will bring all of us the closure we so desperately need.
I'm disappointed that even with this positive step, there is still opposition to the process and the accomplishments, which even though they have the right to be opposed, they should not hinder the peace process. We need to stay by our government and support the negotiators in La Habana, because to compromise and reach an agreement is far more powerful and effective than a continuous conflict can ever be.

Mis palabras no son suficientes para recalcar la importancia del acuerdo de justicia que fue anunciado ayer. Estoy orgullosa de mi país, y de saber que por fin se esta llegando a las etapas finales de las negociaciones. Eso no significa que hayamos terminado. No. La paz no se alcanza con un simple acuerdo. Todavía existe un largo camino que recorrer, y aunque me da cierta tristeza no estar en mi país cuando algo tan magnifico e importante esta sucediendo, este es un paso en la dirección correcta, no solo para terminar el conflicto, sino para lograr el perdón que puede sanar las heridas que llevan 60 años sin sanar. Quisiera estar con la víctimas, poder hacer algo para contribuir, pero lo único que está a mi alcance es mi portátil y mi blog para expresar mi apoyo.
