Okay top surgery update: it's been a day, it's my first night home (drains are out thank god) and I'm not in as much pain as I thought I would be
It's more that I'm really uncomfortable and also can't decide if the compression wrap I have to wear is too tight or just tight enough I'm terrified of wearing it too loosely but I also literally do not know what's too tight

Y'all I had bread today for the first time in nearly a year!!! I'm gonna get bread sticks tomorrow ^-^
I am still nervous about everything food related but we think my recovery is going as it should so far! My follow-up is on Friday and that's when I get approved for crunchy stuff again.

The hospital told my mom 'oh he'll start to feel better once he sleeps" but actually sleeping through the night last night made me feel like I'm living in some kind of underwater dream sequence
Mom also says I'm repeating things a lot today
It's fascinating how many people have told me that I come off more confident these days, that my posture is better, that I look more comfortable in my own skin
So update for those who are interested in my recovery process. The surgery went well and the stitches were removed earlier this week. The highest pain this whole time has been a 3 on the pain scale which I am super grateful for.
I started PT yesterday and sitting I am well beyond 90° bend. Laying down I can get to 73° bend before it gets uncomfortable. But I was sent home with some exercises I can do during the week when I don’t have one of my three days a week sessions.
One exercise I can do while typing at my desk so I hope to work on some of my WIPs and requests. I did actually show my PT instructor a new exercise I learned from the previous instructor so that was interesting and I taught her how to rest your leg on a crutch when sitting and you can’t prop it up on anything else.
But I am also getting closer to getting rid of crutches and have been using just one here and there when I can tolerate it. I still can’t go back to work though which is the worst part because I have no income and my dad whose house I pay rent in decided to change his mind and that I still have to pay rent. So yeah safe to say I’m still a bit stressed and depressed but keep your fingers crossed I can get back to work ASAP.
