It's very well written

The angst you write makes me feel bad things but in a good way...? I don't know how to explain it. But it's still good and that makes you a good writer.

Even if I don't agree with some of your opinion on the show, it's still refreshing reading a different opinion than mine.

You made me fond of the Computer and the way he expresses his fatherly concerns for Zim.

The Post Florpus AU is still being worked on, it's just kinda on the backburner while I do other things. (my art motivation is so low)

Lol It's been awhile since I wrote any "Invader Zim hot takes" So I really am curious on what you disagree about. lol. And plus, I don't take a lot of my headcanons too seriously.

Maybe I just try to look for familial unconditional love in a place where the show is loveless.

But it's kinda my weakness and just the type of relationship dynamics I choose to write about.

I always have a fondness for the "overworked tired computer" archetype that is popular in cartoons and scifi. Zim's Computer fits that perfectly, and I like how I developed him as a character alongside the AU as it continued and grew.

Zim is coming to a conclusion about all his failures throughout his life and appears to have an idea on how to fix that. Oh well, at least he’s not lying on the couch in a schmoop anymore. This could only lead to good things...... perhaps.

It’s coming.

I’m not too pleased with the dialogue in this update, as it doesn’t flow as well as I wanted to, and it might have needed a possible re-write or two. So I hope it’s all coherent. At least the jist of what I’m trying to say. 

As Dib gets ready for a Membrane Family visit, it looks like Zim is coping with some hard feelings about himself and he’s taking it out on his minions. Perhaps the Behavioral Readjustments worked afterall, just not in the way that the Tallest anticipated. Although it’s hard to say if Zim knows his minions saved him from the Tallest, if he didn’t want to be saved, if he hates the tallest... or how he came to see the events that transpired on Judgementia. It’s not like he’d tell anyone how he’s feeling or what he thinks.... but... one sign that’s troubling... he’s not lying or bosting about it.

I finally decided to upload this thing on the Florpmus day. 

I originally wanted to include this in the “Back to Skool” Arc, but I think technically that arc officially concluded, since we already saw the events that transpired when Zim went back to Skool. So this is a Shorter Mini-Arc between Back To Skool and the GIR arc which I will officially simply refer to as “The Toy” followers of my old account might have an idea what it is but I’ve been pretty hush about it. (and when I say short I mean short... this will be the shortest arc... maybe only 2-3 parts... hopefully but I always underestimate that)

With a spring in his step, Zim returns to the skool without a plan to confront the Dib. But he’s suddenly overcome with the feeling of a million eyes on him. He can’t breathe and can’t leave so finds the closest available hiding place. Dib is going to expose Zim for the terror he is in front of his Dad’s own two eyes and nothing will get in his way now.... except.......

Like if you’re wondering what’s going on with Zim, well, Public Trauma is a a hell of a drug. 

His existence evaluation and behavioral readjustment were both huge major events 

If you think that Zim had anxiety over too many humans looking at him before... oh boy...  He should have really taken Computer’s advice and not gone to skool at all, but you know he won’t cause he’s Zim.

Membrane is making an effort  and is attending the first parent teacher night in years...  while also not paying attention to his kid. Nice. (it’s not like he’s doing this on purpose. He was just absorbed in his own thoughts that he really didn’t notice.... Yes. Membrane is that oblivious. That’s his whole character.)  Plus Membrane Labs is kinda getting a lot of mixed press right now since the Florpus happened. 

And a WILD GAZ appears! What does she want! Well, we’ll see. she has her reasons. And I’ll get more into her motivations in another comic arc. and another update will probably happen next week. (or later today if I’m lucky) 

Also Happy IZ anniversary everyone! I didn’t draw a birthday pic so this post-florp double update should make up for it.

Dib was angry he didn’t see Zim in skool after all that, because he was for certain he would. He thought Zim would gloat and be obnoxious he was that close to conquering the Earth. Just like he usually does when he “almost wins”. Just because the Earth got sent back to normal and no one cares doesn’t mean he doesn’t have to not care with the rest of them. Zim had to be planning something huge... it’s the only explanation... and he’s going to get to the bottom of this.. and with his Dad’s support he’ll be able to expose Zim faster than Zim can even say “Eh”

There’s a lot of references to Membrane’s Guide in this but it’s not necessary to read. 

All you need to know is that Zim took to hiding in a toilet around the same time Dib stopped coming to Skool last year when his father had a traumatic shark attack and had a long road of recovery. 

(Zim thought he was being ignored... hid in a toilet... and Dib didn’t notice and start to be a recluse until sometime last summer.. and that’s when he became a chair..hope that’s understandable.) 

Also the public opinion is very “split” these days which is why the skoolkids are unsure what to think on Professor Membrane himself, but they’re willing to buy his explanation if it makes Dib seem crazy.
