Sixth Sense? Becoming a photographer, I believe, we learn to tapped into a kind of sixth sense for reading the emotions of others. Whether positive or negative, we tend to signal or hone in on it, find the connection between it and the subject and make it tangible in the form of a created image. These images are of a bar patron who wanted some pictures taken this evening. The first four were taken while I let him, as a instructor of mine in photography school used to say, 'drive the bus.' After about twenty or so shots like these, he was obviously acting for the camera, my instincts is saying there is more to him. I then took over. How did I pull him out? I removed him from the bar environment where he maintained a face and brought him outside. He lights up a cigar, while I'm taking my sweet ass time 'adjusting camera settings.' Soon his mask starts to slip and the real emotion starts showing through. I only needed and took three shots. #portraitphotography #realphotographers #realphotographersgive #lifestylephotography #photography #photographer #photographerlife #portraits #portraitsofpeople (at Jocko's Pub and Sports Bar)
