the very first thing v was aware of was how empty she felt. not emotionally, physically. her mind felt painstakingly barren -- for how short the relic had been in her head compared to the life she led beforehand, one would think that the missing piece wouldn't leave such an impact, but it did. like a pulled tooth, or a missing tumor. the void of where the rocker's presence had been in the back of her psyche was obvious before she even came to full consciousness. she had expected it, but it didn't make it any less surprising. a part of her longed to stay under the precious pull of nothing - of a dreamless rest that she so desperately craved. she was tired, and it was a default state of being after the relic started chipping at away at her bit by bit. and when she slept, it was restless. this wasn't restless, it was the absence of anything at all. and it was addicting. regardless, not after too long, she found herself awake, even if relucantly -- she allowed the good ripperdoc to poke and prod at her until he was satisfied to give her a reprieve. let her thoughts stew alone - truly alone for the first time since konpeki. she was perched on the side of the exam chair, her hands gripped to the edges of it to keep herself from swaying too much. she blinks at the floor a few times, clearing the haze out of her vision - and pink cyberoptics slowly wander upwards once she's confident that her vision has properly adjusted to the room. the only real sounds pulsing through the clinic once viktor left her to her devices was her own breathing, the whir of various machines, and the breathing of one other -- pink cyberoptics finally dart their way around the room - finding the only other occupant of the room. and, she cannot help the way her breath catches somewhere in her throat - wheezing back out and cascading from her lungs. because he looks so solid, alive. his edges more solid than she had ever seen them. she wasn't quite sure what she expected. besides, she had seen the body - felt the ice cold skin barely out of its cage of ice and stasis. but, this was different. she could see his chest rise and fall, see the color of life returned to his flesh. lip part wordlessly for a brief moment before she tries to find the words that were attempting to force their way up her throat like a bile - instead, all that comes out is a quiet, "-johnny?"
