Day 21 - Show That Made Me Cry

Many, many, many shows made me cry. BUT, I’m gonna give this one to a show I hardly talked about: YYY

It may sound weird that this show made me cry, because it’s a sitcom and a really super weird one too. But, the nice thing about it is how deep it goes.

This is the moment, guys. This is it. That little sad smile right there... Pun is leaving because Nott doesn’t want him and Porpla... guys... Porpla my the broken-hearted queen. This woman has seen things. This woman has suffered, has been mistreated. She not only gets his pain, she has been there. She has lived it.

She’s been shown as the super crazy landlady who goes apeshit on everybody for no apparent reason. But when one of her tenants... one of her babies... is suffering, she’s there for him. She comforts and holds him, she’s encouraging him softly, she doesn’t sugarcoat the world but she shows him that he can survive the pain. This moment is the epitome of found family. She’s his sister, she’s his mother, she’s his friend.

As Judit always says "you are valid" 😂😂😂😂 jk.

currently craving: food-wise nothing dfjkjhgldghj otherwise i’d love financial stability but whats new

currently reading: im in the middle of a few books rn; i just finished so you want to talk about race and am going thru it again to underline parts i like; im also reading white fragility, and a book called little blue encyclopedia (for vivian) too :)

Day 5: Favorite Female Character

I absolutely love Porpla.

YYY the series was also a show that I did not expect to fall in love with. It’s just so crazy that I... love it? Does that even make sense? Somehow it does lol. Porpla is so crazy and hilarious. She’s got this sense of humor that never fails to make me laugh. Not to mention that scene where she talks to Pun before he leaves 😭 that got to me. Female characters in bl dramas are often written poorly, in my opinion, but Porpla’s character is so progressive and I really appreciated her.
