This interpretation of the Watchers boils down to this: We are the Watchers. You, sitting at your screen, are one of the millions of Watchers, and your goal is to be entertained. If we take this interpretation, a lot of events take on a new layer of meaning.

Why do the Watchers make the Evolutionists go through the updates? Because if things remained the same, they would get boring, and the Watchers demand entertainment. Why do the Watchers take Grian away from Evo? To put him in Hermitcraft, a place where they believe he will be more entertaining. (There is also the meta of Grian becoming a Watcher, as he now watches Evo instead of participating.)

It gets even deeper when we look at the Traffic series. Within universe, it is established through Martyn that the Traffic series is designed by the Watchers. The Watchers want more games, more drama, more death, because it keeps them entertained.

This interpretation really shines when you look at the fandom. Even as the fandom writes angsty fics about the Watchers trapping the poor players in another death game, they are, at the same time, actively excited and waiting for the next installment in the series. We portray the Watchers as malevolent gods while at the same time doing exactly the same thing they do.

Chapter 108 Fyodor

Spoilers ahead for Chapter 108 of the BSD manga

(I apologize in advance if I explained this poorly)

Fyodor's double personality act (if it is an act, but I'll get to that in a minute) is an extremely important tactical decision

While on the surface it could be seen as just another one if Fyodor's mini schemes to manipulate and control the people around him for shits and giggles, it could actually play a huge role in how he is perceived in future chapters and the way people trust/interact with him

How? Well, the main contributor is doubt.

Although generally people assume the whole double personality thing was completely an act, there are still collective doubts that it was either not an act or he was partially telling the truth. And that is an important component to how Sigma, or really anyone else, perceives the situation.

For instance, if Sigma decided to believe that it wasn't an act, even after the whole "just kidding" thing, it would provide another crack in his resolve and even potentially a bit of reserved trust in Fyodor.

Even if it wasn't an act, or a partial truth, Fyodor still gains advantage. He has the power to pull out that trick often enough to keep Sigma guessing, to preserve the doubt in Sigma's mind that this is the real Fyodor.

Where it gets interesting is when one considers the other end of it, if it was completely an act. There is not really any advantage to do such an act if Fyodor was completely lying. While he still gets to stab Sigma and try and get closer to him, gaining the chance to have Sigma drop his guard, If it was completely an act there is no real chance of Fyodor gaining such a position again, where he seems so vulnerable and approachable, which could be extremely important tactically speaking; especially if he wants to gain that advantageous position of gaining the sympathy of Sigma.

But really, that's the whole point. Because such an act can be seen as reckless and inconsiderate of the long term, one could easily assume that is probably wasn't fully an act, swaying people to be hung up on it as something that was real or a half truth. Which is likely the entire reason he did such a thing to Sigma specifically; it gives him the chance to place doubt in Sigma's mind of his mental standings, and potentially gain some sort of advantageous footing, actual double personality or no. It's the doubt that counts.
