The Speaker: On the amendment the hon. member for Edmonton . . .
Some Hon. Members: Question.
The Speaker: Okay. I just don’t want to cut anybody off by accident. So not on the amendment. There is nobody.
[Motion on amendment A1 carried]
An Hon. Member: It was close, though.
The Speaker: Pardon me? You know, you’ve got to let me do this, all right?

Mr. Bilous: I think the Government House Leader needs to review the point of question period and how this place works.
Mr. Jason Nixon: Are you handling this, or do you want me to respond to it?
The Speaker: Yeah. I will organize how we do points of orders around here. I might just add, you know, that I didn’t require an intervention from the Official Opposition House Leader on the first point of order. I’m not convinced that I need an intervention from the Government House Leader on this particular point of order.

The Speaker: However, how many times do you want to use the words “misleading,” “context,” “untrue,” et cetera? It just, you know . . . [interjections] Hon. members, please don’t interrupt when I’m speaking. Try and decide as a group amongst yourselves if this is productive use of time in this place. I’m sure you can go on and on forever about this, but you’ve heard me talk so many times about this, so I guess you have to share responsibility along with me.

Mr. Mason: Point of order.
Mr. Nixon: Point of order, Mr. Speaker.
The Speaker: What are we at now, five?

The Speaker: Hon. members, I just remembered why there was an upside of not being here yesterday. Hon. members, please, let’s not let the dialogue float to the bottom about accusations of what’s true and what’s not true. We are hon. members, and we ought to treat that accordingly.
