I love crying so I was hoping to cry and I went through the finale all “wtf this isn’t nearly as emotional as it was hyped up to be” so I was relieved, relieved and dripping snot and tears, when it hit that point.

God a bunch of those were great. One of the things I really liked about the dynamics in TAZ was how the Tres Horny Boys would just like... do things or make things up that would become defining character traits of the NPCs in the game. Their fucking refusal to just put the goddamn token in the goddamn machine was fucking hilarious and wound up defining Leon’s entire character. Jenkins and his spell slots. Graham the Juicy Wizard. Boyland and his 400 sons and 13 daughters. Griffin would introduce these characters and then the boys would just dick relentlessly at them and it was so fucking funny. I’ve been thinking about this because just through the sheer hilarity of the stuff they would come up with or do to these characters it would actually change the characters defining traits. I really liked that.

I’ve been scavenging around on tumblr in my free time finding fanart of the show i like, and that includes plenty of the animations. I’m also tempted to relisten to part of the show but I think I’ll resist and do that in a couple years

Yep, no gyms! It’s one of several things that this generation did to change up the very repetitive structure that the pokemon games have been based on since the beginning. Rather than gyms and gym leaders, there are trials, trial captains, and kahunas.

tbh my perfect choices for part 6 endings were The Stroke's Machu Picchu for the first half and Florence + the Machine's How Big How Blue How Beautiful for the other half

i also watched it last night for halloween, it was great! like i found the sense of humor was pretty much in line with what my own is and so it was a great movie for me, really funny. all the reasoning behind the backlash is super obvious, people who try to argue that its just because the remake is worse than the originals are big fat liars

Neat coincidence! Good to hear you enjoyed it too (everything with Kevin was the best part of it for me and I feel Erin for being so thirsty around him). And yeah, no one is going to say “I don’t like this movie because I don’t respect women” (well a few people do, but if you’re that shitty of a person you’re going to use much more extremely language), so the language is going to be focused on something else. It’s not actually uncommon for people to hate on remakes. My family has always been a “the book was better than the movie” family, and when old movies they love are remade they usually dismiss them immediately. But that kind of pessimism (often warranted) when it comes to new remakes and sequels is on a whole different level than the kind of vitriolic rage that this movie inspired before it even came out--the kind that made it the most disliked movie trailer in youtube history.
