“That is an... interesting premise, but for merely poofed gems, it is theoretically possible. While bubbled gems are sort of suspended at the exact moment they were poofed, like falling into a coma as humans would say, gems who are poofed and not put in a bubble are able to process what happened and can actively work to reform. While I’ve never heard of talking to a gem while they’re poofed, you um... bodiless voices sure may have what it takes!” Resting on a pillow, Peridot’s gem would begin to vibrate as Peridot spoke, as within Peridot felt a great need to reform. Things were going to be better, she was going to protect Spinel and make sure she didn’t get any more hurt than she already was...

Spinel Theory
Wanna hear my sad theory? Spinel most likely poofed herself to create her “evil” form. As of now we have not seen normal gems (non diamonds) that can change their form willingly. This doesn’t count shape shifting because as seen with Amathyst it can’t be held for long. All of the gems hit with the rejuvenator all revert back to their actual forms when their memories are regained. This happened to Spinel as well meaning this is her actual form and not her shapeshifting. In conclusion?
