The ponyos live!!!!
Im raising baby amano shrimp. The adults require freshwater, but the zoa (larvae) require full salt conditions to survive.
Weve officially made it a week, which means i did it right!!! At one week, if your salinity is wrong, they all die.
I did spill one of the jars a few days ago, and tried to rescue as many as i could (can you tell which one lol)
Salinity is at 33 and 35 ppt respectively.
Im feeding chlorella powder and brewers yeast because my spirulina powder was too big for them to make use of. I plan on adding it in later this week, since theyre much bigger now. I mix the food in with ~10 drops of water taken from the jar, and put enough in that the water doesnt discolor, but you can see the particulates floating around in the water with the shrimp.
I siphon the waste every other day, and plan to continue a 10% water change weekly.
When i turn the bubble count down lower, the shrimp turn white instead of the nice reddish/peachy color shown here, and become less active.
Temps been at 73.
Im still playing with the idea of splitting the 1st jar into 2 jars.
