This is one of my early photographs, featuring two pond slider turtles (Trachemys scripta) resting on a log in the middle of a lake. What truly captured my attention, however, was the stunning reflection of the surrounding forest stretching across the water. Since capturing this image, I've come to see reflections as an added layer of beauty in every photograph.

Here are some pond sliders turtles (Trachemys scripta), that I photographed at Alligator Lake in Louisiana. They start climbing up onto driftwood logs and such, when it starts to warm up in the morning. It is not uncommon to see six or seven sharing the same log, it is evidently a task to climb up, but getting of is as easy as falling off a log.

I don't post all of the photos that I post here to my Pixels gallery, but I post the photos I like best. Some don't make the cut. I usually wait a couple of days and see how I feel about it then. I can tell right now that I like this photo.
