Growing up Lucas and his family were pretty fucking poor. Like lets be real here. They lived in the Local trailer park, and they got by on one steady income which was sadly not a lot. (oddly librarians not paid a lot who would have known). A lot of their money was then spent by his dad, so yeah he didnât have a lot. However they did get by, and Lucas accumulated quite a few things through his scientific endeavors. There were left over posts from the library he hung up in his room, news articles, awards he was given from the school. Things like that. He had his own computer his mother got at the rental shop and paid of over a few years, he had a giant desk, and a tiny bed. But honestly, Lucas didnât hate his room. He didnât really need a lot just a desk and he was happy tbh.Â
Anyway continue reading for important things Lucas owns. Also I said I was going to do it last night so I did it. And I built the Garrido Trailer that Lucas grew up in in the Sims 4 (I actually build a lot so Iâm okay at it I think). I didnât decorate the entire thing. Youâll see. Just the outside, the kitchen/living room and Lucasâs (completely unusable by sim standards) bedroom. But I thought it was kind of fun so I added it.
Right now he is renting a place with Q for the summer and I added a section to my Pintrest board for Lucas here you can check out that has probably what things would look like more now at this apartment (I think itâs an apartment) he has with Q for the time being.
SIGNIFICANT ITEMS
1. NEWS ARTICLES. When I say news articles I mean news articles about him. I imagine that Lucas has been features in the local Elmridge papers a few times through his life. During Science fairs, and other events similar to that. Maybe something to do with Baseball though he was certainly never great at it, but you know it might have gotten his picture in the paper sometime. Even now into his college years he still collects things like that. He wants to chronicle his success. Who can blame him for that? But there is certainly a giant collection of news articles that he keeps with him in a photo album. Maybe when he gets a real place of his own - not just a temporary one - heâll put them all up on the wall or something.Â
2. A QUILTED BLANKET. While his mom was pregnant with him, her and a few friends around Marigold Park quilted a blanket that he has been using since he was a child. Itâs not like ... tacky or anything. Itâs just a regular sort of quilt. Do you know how much bedding costs? A fuck ton. If he has a perfectly usable blanket heâs going to use it. Itâs absolutely not for the sentimental value. Please... He loves his mom and he loves her blanket she made for him okay leave him alone.
3. SCIENCE EQUIPMENT. These arenât necessarily something heâs been carrying around with him since he was a child. They get updated, changed out, new flasks and beakers and what have you are brought in. But Lucas has amassed a significant amount of science equipment from his first kindling of an interest in it until now. A lot is sealed away in boxes unless he knows heâs going to need it. Especially expensive things like microscopes, or dangerous things like burners. As much as I joke he doesnât actually have those out laying around unless heâs going to be using them. Safety first okay. Anyway, if you ever are tasked with helping him move please move things very carefully you are probably lugging around a shit ton of very breakable material and he will be very upset if he loses something.Â
THE GARRIDO TRAILER (imagine itâs in a trailer park with other ones that I didnât want to have to build just to give off the illusion)
The Kitchen.Â
The Living room.Â
Lucasâs bedroom with his desk, and a lot of shit under it. Some posters and such on the wall. I imagine he would sit on his bed to use the desk.Â
The other side of his room featuring some news articles and some art I imagine Jaime drew for him, that he put up on his wall.

POND TASK 1Â [ first I made a unsplash collection for jaimeâs house here ]
His High School Art Collection. Â Thatâs making it sound cooler than it is. Really itâs just a few paintings he created while he was still in High School learning what painting actually is, and what art really can be. Itâs pretty terrible. But Jaime has a sentimental attachment to the art he created in high school because it was the first art he ever really created. It was the first time he ever really felt like he LIKED something. So, while he looks back at what he painted, or drew, or whatever back in his high school art class it might at times give him second hand embarrassment but he really loves it. It holds a special place in his heart. He might be better at it all now, but there is something about the joy he found in just painting something absolutely fucking terrible back then.
His Guitar. Can Jaime play the guitar? ... Kind of. Does he like to play the guitar? Yeah! Heâs not good at it, heâll be the first one to say that. And itâs not something he does in front of people. Not a lot of people anyway. Heâs not embarrassed to play with others around. But for the most part he just kind of likes sitting down alone and strumming out something that vaguely sounds like music. His Nanny bought him the guitar when he was in high school. it was something he said he might be interested in, so she took him to a music store and they got one. He also has an electric guitar which he bought himself just because it seemed like itâd be cool. That one he plays less often. It sort of just sits in his room making it look like he could play if he wanted to .... Donât be fooled.
The Souvenir Wall. Jaimeâs always been able to do a lot of traveling, moving to Oxford is not exactly the first time heâs been out of the country. Heâs gone on vacation with his parents every summer since he was a child. There are a lot of souvenirâs he has from those trips, but this wall is mostly taken up with things heâs collected on school trips heâs taken with the other Big Fish. Things from museums, from plays, post cards, awards, news paper clippings, and many many photos of them through out the years. Trips he took for school always were way more fun to him than the vacations he had with his parents, despite the fact that he could go where ever he wanted to. Heâd kind of always rather would have been with his friends.Â
her blankie. a gift from her nana, presleyâs blankie is made of knitted giraffes and sheâs slept with it nearly every night since she was three months old. she keeps it bunched up under her pillow. itâs her most important comfort object.
third grade class photo. it sits in the paper folder it comes in on her dresser, and it includes all of the big fish. that was the year presley had managed to become friends with almost all of them, and the first year in school she really felt like she fit in. sure, that feeling began to fade, but⊠but she still keeps the photograph. it reminds her of being home.
her first code book. itâs from the fifth grade so itâs basically falling apart, but itâs full of her very first notes on javascript, including her first successful program. every time she looks at it, she remembers what it was like when she first learned to program, how her mind was alight with possibility. it always inspires her to get back to work, to do what she always wanted to do.
framed mit acceptance letter. it was an email, her parents printed it out and framed it for her graduation party because they were so proud of her. as soon as she came back from boston for her first thanksgiving break, she shoved it into the bottom of her deskâs junk drawer. she hasnât touched it since, refuses to even look at it. the very sight of it fills her with shame.
