When I chose the name for Pomeline I really wasn’t thinking about shipnames. I looked up ”french names with bad meanings” cuz I wanted her name to be like Iyami’s. Meaning ”disagreeable” or something. But Its surprisingly hard to find those kinds of names cuz who would want to name a baby/character that? So I came across Pomeline. Which means… ”apple”. Not really what I went looking for but It sounded cute so I went with it.
But now here’s the problem. What the hell is the shipname for Pomeline and Iyami? I ended up for Pomiyami but here’s some iterations I went through:
Pomeliyami = too long. Also sounds like Pommel Iyami. ”Pommel him with rocks!!!” Is all I could think of.
Iyamiline = Sounds like some sort of phone line where you could call Iyami and he’s tell you some pyramid scheme he created in a prerecorded message.
Pomami = This is a fankid name. If Pomeline and Iyami would have a kid (and also wanted to name it after themselves for some reason), this is what that name would be.
Iyameline = This was a strong contender. But if we’re going by old fandom rules, the top in the relationship has their name first in the name. And no one can think can Iyami is the top here ;p
So yeah. Is Pomiyami the surperior shipname? I’d hope so. If you have better ideas then ohhh don’t tell me. I already edited my old posts to include the hashtag :,)
