who would you cast as DĂs?
I donât have a set fancast for DĂs because frankly, I donât care much for Dwarves. I mostly spend my time thinking about fancasts for Edain, and to a lesser extend, Elves.
Iâve seen several people cast Rachel Weisz and Olga Kurylenko. I donât really see it, personally (Rachel has a Noldorin air about her while Olga is rocking the renowned Haladin amazon look, in my opinion) but those edits Iâve linked look great.
The fact that female Dwarves also have beards creates a bit of a problem. (And although people often fancast DĂs as such, they arenât really supposed to be lean or pretty by the standards of Elves and Men.) The beard causes a problem most especially for gifs. The only bearded female character in television I can think of is Kathy Bates as Ethel Darling in American Horror Story: Freakshow. If you want to stick to canon about the beard and the build, that is.
ETA: I also saw this post which looks like a decent fancast for DĂs, though I donât know the name of the actress. I just found out that the person on this post was Tatiana Maslany from Orphan Black and that character was a trans* man, thus it may be offensive to use her in such an edit. I had no idea, I apologise for my ignorance and any discomfort I may have caused you.
