Coiled in Affection
The room had gone unusually quiet only the soft rustle of scales breaking the silence as four serpentine bodies slowly settled around the one human in the center.
“You all are staring” Jinu mumbled, cheeks already warm.
“No” Abby replied, resting his chin against the man’s hand with an innocent smile. “We’re admiring”
“That’s worse”
A quiet laugh came from above. Romance draped himself comfortably over the back of the couch, long tail curling around everyone like a protective wall. “He’s blushing again”
“I am not”
“You are” Baby whispered, pressing his forehead lightly against the human’s temple. His cool scales contrasted with warm skin, and the simple touch was enough to earn another flustered look.
Mystery, half-hidden beneath the gentle coils of his own tail, peeked up with sleepy eyes. “Can we keep him here tonight?”
Jinu blinked. “Keep me?”
“As in…” Mystery yawned, “…don’t let you wander off”
Abby hummed in agreement. “You’re warm.”
“So are heated blankets”
“They don’t blush when we compliment them”
The room erupted into quiet laughter. Jinu his face with one hand. “You four planned this”
“We absolutely did” Romance admitted without an ounce of shame. Baby reached over, carefully intertwining their fingers. “You work too hard”
“So tonight,” Abby, gently brushing a thumb beneath Jinu’s chin, “you don’t have to think”
Mystery shifted until his head rested comfortably against Jinu’s lap, already looking half-asleep.
“You just stay here…and let us spoil you”
Jinu looked around at the four expectant faces surrounding him. Every pair of eyes held the same quiet affection no teasing now, just warmth. His shoulders finally relaxed “…Fine” he sighed, unable to hide the smile tugging at his lips.
“I’ll stay”
