PolyOne to start thermoplastic elastomer production in India

PolyOne Corporation (POL) expects to start production of thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) at its existing facility in Pune, India. PolyOne currently produces colour and additive concentrates and engineered polymer solutions at the Pune facility.

Adding TPE production enables the company to support customers in the country even more quickly and with a broader portfolio of domestically manufactured materials.

PolyOne opened a new facility in Pune in 2014, initially focused on the production of colourant and additive concentrates to serve end markets such as transportation, electronics & electrical, healthcare, wire & cable, and packaging. The company expanded manufacturing capability to include speciality engineered materials last year. With the most recent addition of TPE production, PolyOne enables manufacturers to source all of their speciality polymer requirements from a single domestic source.

PolyOne acquires Spanish masterbatch firm

PolyOne Corporation (POL) said that it has acquired IQAP Masterbatch Group SL, a privately owned and innovative provider of speciality colourants and additives based in Spain with customers throughout Europe.

Founded in 1979 by Xavier Rovira, IQAP has built a technical and broad solutions portfolio that serves high-growth end markets consistent with PolyOne's focus, including transportation, packaging, consumer, wire & cable, and textiles. With two production facilities and a technology lab located in Spain, plus additional manufacturing capability in the Czech Republic, PolyOne will implement its proven invest-to-grow approach to integration and customer service.
