Hello friends!! 

This is your gentle reminder that there are only !FIVE DAYS TO GO! until the deadline for the PolyA Exchange 2022!! Deadline is midnight June 19th (your timezone). If you do not think you’ll be able to finish by the deadline, or if you require an extension, please contact a mod either through @the-poly-armory​ or through our Discord server.

If you are willing to be a pinch hitter for the PolyA Exchange, please go here to add your name to the list. To become a pinch hitter, you will need an AO3 account. If you do not have an AO3 account, please contact a mod (@cloud--atlas​ or @random-harishe​) and we’ll help you.

What is a pinch hitter?

A pinch hitter is a creator who can be called upon to fulfill outstanding or defaulted assignments, ensuring that all participants receive a work. This can happen at any time during the exchange, but tends to happen close to the deadline.

Does that mean I’ll have less time to create my fanwork?

Unfortunately, yes. Some exchanges - usually those that are large, such as chocolatebox - have pinch hit deadlines as well as the main deadline, but we are a small enough exchange that that would be impractical. As such, the pinch hit deadline and the main deadline are the same for this exchange.

What are the rules for pinch hits?

Same as for the main exchange. Minimum 1000 words and adhere to recipients DNWs.

Do I have to be taking part in the PolyA Exchange already to be a pinch hitter?

Not at all. If you missed the signups or just stumbled across this exchange after the fact, you can signup without any problem. Of course, you can also signup as a pinch hitter as well as signing up as a regular participant. Just please make sure you have enough time to finish all your assignments by the deadline.

Will I be contacted prior to being assigned as a pinch hitter?

Assignments for the PolyA Exchange have been sent out! Please check the email connected to your AO3 account for your assignment and, if you have any problems, please contact @random-harishe, @hawksandspiders or @cloud--atlas on tumblr or through the Poly Armory Discord Server.
