Imagine waiting for Bill and Fleur at the Burrow with Molly and Ginny
No news is good news. But as you waited in the Burrow with Ms. Weasley and Ginny, you could now say that it wasn't true. In fact, not knowing was worse. At least bad news could give you closure. Instead, you were left in a state that was a mixture of worry, despair, and anxiety. The atmosphere felt heavy as the three of you were spread out on the first two floors of the Burrow.
The three of you had at first been in the living room seated on the various couches and chairs as you stayed near each other for comfort. Holding each other's hand and reassuring the others that things would be okay but as the time passed out, you all grew restless. And so you all spread out, Ginny went to her room, Molly to the kitchen while you stayed in the living room. Each of you needs to do something, anything, to calm the uneasiness you all felt.
Staring at the Weasley clock, you felt your heart ache as each of the needles except Ms. Weasley pointed to mortal peril. You knew why they all went to the Dursley's - it was important to protect Harry and you agreed with the plan - but you couldn't stop yourself from worrying.
Dread filled the pit of your stomach as portkeys began appearing in the Burrow without anyone. First, it was a rusted oil can - Ron and Tonks, then a sneaker - Mr. Weasley and Fred. Tears formed in your eyes as your stomach dropped. But the heavy and quiet atmosphere was broken as another blue flash brightened the room and then chaos. Shouting and chaos filled the air as the members of the Order started appearing. Harry and Hagrid, who though worse for wear were uninjured. Lupin and George, the former carrying the latter as they were both covered in blood. Hurrying over as Lupin and Harry set him on the couch, you began tending to George alongside Ms. Wealsey, tuning out the others to focus. You could hear more voices as people apparated in the Burrow but neither was the two you were hoping to hear causing your fear and worry to multiply.
Trying to clean up the dried blood with a clean rag, you were broken out of your focus when you heard the screech of a Thestral. Looking to Ginny who was beside you, she took the rag without question and took over for you. Rushing outside, tears of relief fell from your eyes as you spotted your partners. Running toward them, you swept them into a hug. "Thank goodness; I was so worried!"
The two returned the hug but you felt Bill shift as footsteps sounded from behind you three. He broke from the embrace, leaving you to look over Fleur for any injuries and fuss over her when you noticed the tear tracks on her cheeks. At the question in your eyes, she simply shook her head and hugged you once more, wrapping her arms around you and burying her head in the crook of your shoulder. That's when you heard Bill speak.
"Mad-Eye's dead."
