“Part of my thesis when I was still in art school was to attend gigs in Manila for roughly a year. I had fun being a wallflower in those events. Incidentally, after passing my thesis and graduating university, a friend lent me her DVD copy of Almost Famous. To this day, I'm thankful for my old friend's timely movie recommendation. Watching the film at that point of my life was a sweet ending to a year of learning, growth, and intimacy with this side of Philippine music.....”
