9. worst part of canon as per usual, the easy answer is the treatment of mikuru. also as per usual, i'm going to discount that as the easy answer! instead i'll fall back on my reliable old friend: the lack of a truly good translation. i'm often especially annoyed about the official tls, particularly because they are published by a corporation and cost money and still have multiple errors in the text across multiple books, but the fan translations aren't perfect. they're messy, and because they were abandoned, they'll never be cleaned up; my reason for preferring them isn't that they're some definitive edition or anything because there isn't one. if you want a really good look at what i mean, pull up both versions of indignation and read yuki's untitled short story. it reads completely differently! translation is an art as much as a science, and i stand by that stance, but it does inherently sort of mean that we'll never have a definitive text to refer to in english. to my ever-present frustration.
15. that one thing you see in fanart all the time honestly, most of the things i see in fanart trends don't bother me? i'm usually just happy to see haruhi art at all! well. (except those folks that keep putting ai 'art' in the tags, but i just block those. i don't really think they count, anyway). thanks for giving me a reason to go look through recent fanart i missed, though!
