The games Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness were released in Gen3, but for the GameCube instead of the Game Boy Advanced like RSE and FRLG. It was a whole separate thing and I for one very much enjoyed them to the point that there's something familiar to Orre lurking in Origin and may also go into Cradle -- unless, of course, we have an interlude for an Orre Echo between the first two regions.

Relatively speaking it wouldn't be hard, and I think I'd make it optional, and obviously it would be tailored to each individual character's thread to be coherent with their plot.

Now, I might do this regardless and I might not, but you can have a say in whether or not I do it before finishing Region 2. (SIDE NOTE: Orre's Echo would probably take less time than Johto's Echo, as it's a much smaller "region" with no real native PKMN and is dominantly a Plot Thing.)

Echo has a new feature coming out: emotive interaction banners for NPCs and player companions!

Pokémon Echo seeks to be a fairly truthful "echo" back to the generation each Echo Region represents -- but occasionally we add in extras!

In the currently playable Origin Region, the echo to Kanto, we've added:

A full explorable original world full of well developed OCs instead of the Kanto natives.

New locations without a Kanto equivalent // some that are rumored to host strange Pokémon beyond the original 151 / Gen1.

Contest Coordinators, Pokémon Breeders, Rangers, Scientists and villains as playable trainer classes alongside the traditional gym trainer path.

As you may have noticed, contests have been added as a free-for-all, anyone can try event, even if you're not officially a contest coordinator.

Experience related stipends and progression a la Legends: Arceus.

Changeable movesets, a la Legends: Arceus.

New items, such as specialized Poké Balls unique to Origin.

The ability to evolve / hatch babies of Pokémon that originally appear in Gen 1, but have other stages released in later generations. (EXAMPLE: Eevee was released in Gen 1 / Kanto. It's evolution, Sylveon, was released in Gen 6. However, because Eevee is native to Kanto, in Origin we do allow players to evolve their Eevees into Sylveons.)

Player housing, permanent or temporary.

A unlockable PokéCenter Abra teleportation system.

Canon berries from Gen3+ have been made available (some harder to find than others) as well as WIP-hybrid berries.

Custom ID cards + special occupational cards.

Customizable character outfits.

Custom egg designs made by Mod Kat.

Of course, much has stayed the same!

We have the same eight gym types as Kanto, as well as the Elite Four and Champion.

NOTE: in Origin, you are allowed to take the gyms in any order, but they will still get harder with each badge.

The Pokémon set is based off of the original 151 -- and they're ALL obtainable, some in the wild and some via unlockable quests. (No choosing one fossil, etc.)

Regional AND National Pokédexes (these are maintained through shared GoogleDoc spreadsheets, one per player character, that track all of your Pokémon's personal details, as well as containing a more traditional Pokédex, a custom Breederdex, and a Berrydex -- and an optional Character Dex to track important NPCs)

A Trainer School that echoes Kanto's Pokémon Academy, but goes into more detail. (It's closer to Pokémon Stadium 2's academy, than the in-game one. Topics can be expanded on player requests.)

Pokémon Battles! One of three ways: we can roleplay it out entirely, we can roleplay it using dice D&D style, or we can use Pokémon Showdown based off predetermined Pokémon stats.

Team Legend... recognizable by the three TL logos below - one for each of the admins, each of the legendary birds.

They take the place of Kanto's Team Rocket, criminals and petty thieves whose leader dreams of possessing all the Legendary Pokémon. It's simple enough, though not every player will encounter them.

The real question is, if Team Legend echoes Team Rocket... who are these guys?

Welcome, trainers, to Pokémon Echo - a set of fan regions designed to call back to (or echo) the canon core series regions across eight generations.

Here, we offer roleplay, of a kind both specific and limitless. Specifically, this is set up as single-verse roleplay, in a D&D inspired way that makes your opportunities within that verse limitless. Upon creating a character, you will be dropped into an original setting with only your own self-determined goal to chase after. Here, we offer you guilt-free, unashamed wish fulfillment in an exciting new and fresh Pokémon setting.

In these original settings, you will find the same Pokémon you know and love and hundreds of new NPCs from all walks of life living in a full fledged world - and you are invited to interact with it as you please. Do you want to do the traditional gym challenge, seeking the championship? Maybe you just want, for the first time since Gen6, to have a completely full Pokédex. Maybe you really want to examine in depth the details of breeding Pokémon in peace. Long time fans can no doubt think of many possible goals.

Long time Pokémon fans are an obvious demographic, but really all you need is an interest and a willingness to learn; our friendly mods are here to help you not only design characters, but find your way into this new world. No matter what level of experience you have with Pokémon, there is a place for you here and a journey to be had.

Hey guys, Prof Cacao here! It's time to kick this blog into gear. Now that all the roleplayers have specialized, individual Google Docs, this has been very quiet, as has the discord! I'd like to change that, starting with talking a bit more about Region 1, Origion - our Echo of Kanto (Red / Blue / Yellow, Fire Red / Leaf Green, and to a lesser extent the Let's GO games).

I'd also like to do a series of posts about game mechanics, both in the games and in the RP, which will be released under -

For reference, my sweet spot is Kanto-Hoenn + Galar, but I do have experience with Sinnoh and Alola. Anything else I'd be happy to research, however!

I don't think I shared this here. Behold the changes made to Origin (Echo Region 1, Kanto's mirror) I have changed Origin to reflect our in-progress Gen 2, Cradle (Johto's mirror, with some HG/SS features baked in).

its layout, like Origin, is a rotated / sometimes mirrored version of the canon routes and will be heavily inspired by it with places akin to Mt. Moon, the National Park and its bug hunt, the Radio Tower with music and a password show and more. As usual, all Kanto, Johto and Johto-evolutionary-adjacent Pokemon (such as Bonsly) will be available. There will also be some extras to unravel as you go.

Hey! Thanks for the interest. We're a very small group, and by a vast margin, most of the threads are actually on Google Docs at the moment so you don't "see" the activity that's going on.

It is 100% doable on Discord; anyone can have their own RP channel and just play it out there, and if they want to discuss something character / plot / etc it can also be done in the group discord (again, very small and VERY quiet, but active behind the scenes!) or it can be done privately.

And of course, yes we have Tumblr though we literally have only 1 person doing Tumblr threads. XD

We are absolutely accepting new members, I can drop a Discord link any time for anyone! Just some basic netiquette about not being a jerk, but that's just common sense.
