Design breakdown:

This flag uses a Spanish fess design, which features two stripes on the top and bottom of the flag which are each half as wide as the center stripe. (Just like the real Spanish flag!)

The purple and red represent both the Scarlet and Violet titles and the Uva and Naranja Academies. The exact shades were colorpicked from the flag of the Second Spanish Republic.

The Terra Jewel symbol in the center references Paldea's unique Terastal energy.

Design breakdown:

The blue and red colors are picked from the Union Jack.

The crossed swords are a symbol of strength and Galar's past conflicts, especially with the Kalos region. The gold color references the Isle of Armor. The swords are modeled after Zacian's.

Design breakdown:

The clovers are recognized symbols of Alola, carried by trial captains and used as Alola's origin mark in Pokemon Bank. Each one represents one of Alola's four major landmasses: Melemele Island, Akala Island, Ula'ula Island, and Poni Island.

The golden color of the clovers references both the color of the sun and Alola's former monarchy.

The blue and pink stripes in the background represent the sun and moon dichotomy important in Alolan mythology. The pink represents the dawning sun, while the blue represents the moon.

Design breakdown:

The red, white, and blue are colorpicked from France's flag. The cross shape represents Kalos' past conflicts, while the red and blue stand for Yveltal and Xerneas respectively.

The center starburst is a sixteen-pointed star. Each point represents one of Kalos' sixteen cities and towns.

The whole starburst represents the burst of radiation which made Kalos the homeland of Mega Evolution, which it is still internationally famous for.

Design breakdown:

Yes, I had to use a red/white/blue color scheme; these are the same red and blue from the American flag. Since Unova is based on New York and the larger USA, I wanted to keep the colors of the country flag

The red hexagon references the central shape in the region's map. This loop connects Mistralton City, Icirrus City, Opelucid City, Lacunosa Town, Undella Town, Black City / White Forest, Nimbasa City, and Driftveil City.

Design breakdown for Flag #1 (Flower variant):

This one was designed with diamond and pearl imagery in mind. The flower is made with white diamond-shaped petals. The pink center is reminiscent of a pearl. (The overall shape was loosely inspired by the flag of Sapporo.)

The dark blue background references Sinnoh's cold climate and its abundant lakes and rivers.

The combination of pink and blue may also call to mind the colors of the Shellos who live in Sinnoh's western and eastern seas.

The shapes on the flag reference the historical Diamond and Pearl clans, uniting the two symbols into a flower, a symbol of Shaymin. It also references the many beautiful flower species found in Sinnoh.

Design breakdown for Flag #2 (Arceus variant):

The golden design on this flag references the girdle of Arceus, who was worshiped in ancient times as the "almighty Sinnoh" by the Diamond Clan, Pearl Clan, and Celestica peoples.

The blue background is warmer than the one used for the Flower variant flag. The color is more accurate to modern Sinnoh's western sea.

Design breakdown:

The blue borders reference all of Hoenn's water! It's a lighter color than the Kanto designs' dark blue field to more accurately reflect the color of Hoennian waters.

The circle at the center represents both land and Rayquaza. (I almost made is a simplified ouroborous, but it was too much detail.) It also ties it to Pokémon Emerald.

The circle could also be connected to the meteors that feature in Hoenn's mythology.

Design breakdown:

Like the Kanto flags, the background from this flag was colorpicked from the flag of the Nara Prefecture for the Kansai region, which Johto is based on.

The lozenge (diamond) shape is a very old design, dating back to the Neolithic and Paleolithic periods. This references Johto's reputation as a very traditional region.
