" Vil-san ! Vil-san ! I did it ! I developed my own unique magic !!! " the small potato is bouncing with excitement.
Even in such a state of urgency that everyone's currently found themselves in, Vil's hearing was sharp; specifically for his potatoes (Epel and Rook) who've come bounding over in his direction. First, he heard Rook — but Epel's voice drowned out the huntsman's entirely and it was Epel that Vil was quick to spot as the small group approached him. " There you are, what took you guys so long? "
Vil's arms are out, not with the intention of embracing them a second time but more so to catch Epel before he had the chance to crash into Vil as he wasn't so certain he'd stop in time (impressive. Why isn't he this fast during P.E.?). Taking hold of Epel's shoulders (almost like a mother trying to contain her rambunctious child), he can barely hear Rook's attempt to explain but Epel's excitement, once again, stole Vil's attention entirely. " Epel, what's gotten into you? You're both talking at the same time, would you— what? "
Suddenly, Vil understands. What's more, is that he can see the excitement and pride in Epel's eyes. He's never seen such a sparkle in his eyes until now. His hold on Epel's shoulders tightens albeit briefly before cupping Epel's face next with both of his hands. " You...!? " He glances at Rook who only nods in confirmation, looking equal amounts proud and perhaps overwhelmed. That's expected of Rook.
... And I missed it!? I could kiss all over his face right now. " This is ...! " In an effort to stifle his own emotions, he could only pull Epel into another embrace (one that he wasn't planning on doing again but alas). " I'm so proud of you, Epel! Better yet, what perfect timing. " Speaking of time, they’re wasting it so Epel's released as Vil waves a hand, gesturing them to follow.
" Now, don't tell me what it is yet. I'll expect you to put your unique magic to excellent use very soon. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Do you understand? Show me what you could do, my poison apple. "
