I am so happy to have this made for me by my partner! It’s a mala for the Litany of Fear-- in Frank Herbert’s Dune. He made each glass bead on our porch in 106 degree weather! <3 The spacer beads are tigers eye with iron, and snowflake obsidian. Each bead is a world unto itself, some are loaded with streaks of sparkle (adventurine), and of course there is the blue spice-eye.
-I must not fear.Fear is the mind-killer.
-Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
-I will face my fear.I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
-And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
-Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.

I remember butterflies as a kid. I used to watch skippers, checkerspots, painted ladies, buckeyes, morning cloaks, swallowtails, cabbage butterflies. Every so often a special tiny blue butterfly would come,with tiny swallow tails. What were those called? Hairstreaks? This is a hairstreak mala. May they come back.
