These Chinkapin pieces sat in 4' rounds in my Grandparents basement for 40 years! My dad can remember as a kid when Grandpa cut them, thinking he would turn them on a lathe. He never did, so know I cutting them in to 1" pieces and running them through the planer. I was not real sure about posting actual prices on instagram as I have seen from other posts over the years folks view of value varies widely and everone thinks they are right However it seems this is where the market I want to reach hangs out more than FB marketplace and CG. Also I enjoy the interaction and the willingness to share information which is almost as valuable to me at this point as making a sale. I am delivering these two doug fir slabs to Bend this weekend! Its always nerve wracking working a deal over the phone. So glad to be doing business at a time when I can take all the pictures the customer wants to see and visualize options in real time! I still dont breath easy until its delivered and everyone is happy. I have to do this fairly often, as I live in a rural area, and to get my stuff in front of folks involve organizing delivery trips within a hours of home.
