the first one is that i would like to extend the first round of the contest to jan 25, 2020 for everyone. i’ve noticed a lot of people struggling, so i would like to help out. keep in mind though, in the interest of keeping the contest moving, this will be the last extension. if you are not done by that point, please post what you already have and then write what you planned for the ending (or you could also timeskip to the ending).
the second is that i regret to announce whitley/imbicilite is no longer part of this contest and his character will be converted to an NPC; the NPC is not his character fabien and not associated with any of fabien’s actions. all plots with him will remain intact, however, as retconning him would probably take out about half the event’s plot so far. they will be retained with the assumption that fabien was not able to continue.

NPCs will be available to be picked at 4:00 PM PST SATURDAY. this is to give the new pairs a fair chance at deciding what NPCs they will have before the battle; please list a first and second choice in case someone else decides to pick your NPC first. since this is on a first-come first-serve basis, please also send me your requests through the askbox of this blog so i can readily tell who sent what first. any messages before that time about what NPC you and your teammate wish to choose OR any messages sent to me in IMs or over discord about which NPC you choose will be ignored.
two more things in this post. one, check out some of the changes to the NPCs i made. i gave some of them sync move effects (though not all of them), so if this affects your decision you now have some time to reevaluate. and two, when picking an NPC, personality is a factor that i would love to see being played out in the battles themselves. some NPCs might afford a tactical advantage in terms of moves but be incompatible in terms of personality……others may be the opposite. be honest with yourself about how your muses and the NPCs would interact--any ensuing drama or difficulty would be part of the fun! >:3
