theoretically, the morgana plot is really really fascinating and a natural extension of the theme of the phantom thieves, this group of outcasts, finding their place with each other.
imagine you're morgana, and you have no memories of who you are and what you were sent here to do. but you do remember that: that you are here for a purpose. you cling to that with all that you are. and then you meet some people who not only need your help specifically, but are willing to help you in accomplishing your goal and finding out your memories—who you are, essentially.

but as time goes on and the more people you add onto the team, the more you feel like this is more than you, all of a sudden. and maybe that sounds selfish, but this is all you have of who you are. imagine feeling like you're no longer useful to the very thing you were made for.
so when they show hesitation, when they show doubt, you can't help but explode. because they are also rejecting who you are. you can't stop here. you can't stop now. this is not something that mere logic can overturn, this is about your very existence and your being allowed to exist.
and then you run into a girl who's had her entire life set in stone from the moment she was born. who knows what it means to have been born for a purpose, to be lashed to that purpose and to be afraid of losing that purpose even if it is actively harmful to you.
and so you decide to team up! to figure out what rebellion looks like together. to find new purposes together. to be outcasts, again, who found their own place.

there's like a really neat thing about yusuke's initial resistance to being helped. the colour that nakanohara's commentary gives about yusuke Wanting to leave, but not being able to is oughhh. because the yusuke that the thieves encounter has such a hard barrier raised and in part i do believe that he does it out of a filial duty and gratitude towards madarame who, in the narrative that he was aware of at the time, very 'kindly' took him in to raise after his mother died. but i think there's also an aspect that yusuke is Embarassed about being a victim. he really is aware of his situation and is doing so much leapfrogging to keep from fully addressing it because it would also mean acknowledging him being complicit in madarame's forgeries. and as someone who LOVES art so much and holds it in such a pure and high regard, how much that must hurt his soul and pride to have to admit he was a part of it, coerced or not.
'have foolishly you averted your eyes from the truth' goemon chides. and how he thanks madarame for finally making it impossible for yusuke to stand idly by and facilitate those lies and disgrace of the art (and mother) he so preciously loves.
and then he's finally able to take responsibility for everything that he ignored, ran away from and allowed. and with great responsibility comes great power :)

small headcanon but i generally write ryuji having a love language of cooking for others or treating them out. "i want both of us to eat well" and all. he's a decent home chef and only gets better with experience started learning from his mother after his father exited their lives. mostly as a way to bond with his mother but also to eventually help lighten her burden because ryuji is SO cognizant of how much he costs to raise.
and ryuji in game is always taking people out to eat. treating ren to beef bowls, offering to do the same for yusuke when he expresses that no one talks to him (not to mention covering most of yusuke's meals and yusuke ALLOWING it which is also an important bit that i will not get into here), getting sodas for ann and ren after ann awakens and many other such cases.
food as an easy way for him to connect with people and really finding value in being able to Provide for people as opposed to constantly, in his mind, being a burden.
and on the flip side, taking the hc of ren's parents to be on the side of neglect, him knowing how to cook just for practicality's sake, but preferring to order take out of snatch bento boxes (which is an option you can choose in the jazz club sl event with akechi) and even ryuji comments, i think, that ren often makes use of the on-premise lunch/food options at school.
ren can cook, but he really wants people to cook for him. his surprise when sojiro makes him curry, many sl events having him be treated out or cooked for (like kasumi's bento) as a way to thank him. he finds a lot of validation in being cared for in this way. in people wanting to make time and room for him in their lives! he gets invited to their table to partake in the same meal and that sense of connection is so important for him who has been cut off from his previous relationships and support system due what happened.
