^ #stories kind of post #Throwback because it's #PMC2016 #Day2 today. โค Last year, I was blessed with the #opportunity to be one of the #ambassadors of Philippine Model Congress. There I met Yvainne Liwag from UST, my favorite coamb, and also the national executive board. Three months before PMC, I met inspiring doers including Executive Secretary Iliana Tan, Executive Directors Angelo Santiago and Sean Angsanto, also Pat Sario, Abe, and many others. They work hard even if they're not paid to do this, because they're passionate for the youth. "Redefining the role of Filipino Youth" has always been the heartbeat of this initiative, founded by Leandro Leviste, Lance Katigbak, Tricia Peralta, Thomas Rosal & Mark Lozano. They believed in what the young people can do. We may not directly impact policies yet, but we have influenced policymakers through PMC. Being one of the pioneer delegates of PMC back in 2012, I wanted to give back last year by applying for ambassadorship. Doing so made me screen 1,448 essays of dreamers who wanted to make concrete change. It was overwhelming! My September 2015 was filled with ideas from these nationbuilders. By October 17, I decided to be a runner for #committee3 because my friend was there. And even if it was very tiring to go back and forth and to literally RUN because many people wanted to speak, debate, and amend the proposed bills, it was all worth it! Our moderator Pooja was so sweet, too. In that room, I felt that there really is hope for our country. That our future is #bright. PMC2015 was like an HPAIR Manila reunion, too! โค Ian Mallillin turned 17! I also met new UPLB faces. I may be the only ambassador but UPLB had MANY delegates and I'm so proud of them. (Some of your certs are still with me btw) PMC2015 didn't have a Day 2 because of Typhoon Lando. Sad, but we're on the bus when we knew. I & my dear friends Jayser Tan & Jenard Berroya still went to Manila. We met Mary Acobera, Joedie Mcquera and bonded. (Microtel still owes my friend, tho) Everything was very memorable. Thank you so much, PMC! Congratulations to PMC2016! #conference #id #youth #leadership #organizer #tb (at Senate of the Philippines)
