Do you make your art yourself?? Is it digitally done?? Or is it AI?

Nope, no AI: I use Photoshop CS6, it's done by hand from scratch, the old way, and it's been the case for years. My art are digital paintings and my style has been pretty consistant for more than 10 years now. For instance, you almost have 4 years between these drawings…

If you are interested in my technique, I also post, from time to time, WIPs and "Step by Step" in my arttechnique and WIPs tags HERE and HERE.

As I was saying, I use Photoshop CS6 but I also use more rarely Procreate or a mix "Photoshop + Rebelle 7" to add an "oil painting brush strokes" effect to my art like in this Sherlock portrait for instance.

I love to use texturized brushes and I'm particularly fan of the Mar-ka set and the Deharm brushes on Deviant Art (if you are an artist yourself, I really recommended these PS brushes).

However, I use OF COURSE reference pictures for my works, I don't draw from memory, it's impossible for me as I have a rather realistic style, so I draw inspiration from existing pictures of actors/singers or from stock pictures, movie stills, etc...

But I can't blame you for thinking my art is AI, I have the kind of art style and textures that AI loves to copy and emulate from. I was talking about it on Twitter the other day when Derek, the "Suit Guy", a pretty famous Twitter user in the world of fashion, was pointing out that "(…) People who are used to creating things using certain methods or styles feel like they need to change their style of expression so they're not accused of using AI." (source).

I'm not going to change my art style but I'm regularly facing this problem:

I'm digressing but with AI detectors not being reliable anymore, some sites put some digital artworks directly in the AI category. That's what happened to this artist here…

....and it happened to me too. An AI detector detected my digital works as "Done in Stable diffusion" for the first artwork and "Done in MidJourney" for the other two, artworks…done in…well, I let you see in what years they were done.

I'm very ahead of my time or a time traveler apparently. 😞

Hello :) I’m doing alright thank you, hope you are too? I am indeed, though I have been slacking in content recently. And no need to apologise! I’ll do my best to answer them - based on what i’ve read in her biography or my own opinion...

1. In her biography she says that “We had an understanding that if Peter was here he should come in. But it soon became obvious that that would never work.” They met again in March 1958 before Margaret flew out to Germany for an engagement, but the press caught wind of it and camped outside near Clarence House for over two hours before Peter even arrived. Their very last meeting was in 1992, the first time since 1958, when Margaret invited him to lunch. Peter was 77 years old then and Margaret (61) said that he “was exactly the same, except he had grey hair.”

1) I'm just "vibing", out there, living my life. I traveled a bit this summer (I went to Manchester to see Oasis live at Heaton Park, then London for the Abbey Road Studios), I'm taking care of my house, I embroider a bit too. I have to take care of my family too, so less time for art.

2) No IP is really inspiring me at the moment and making me go "wow". Don't get me wrong, I still love Sherlock, Steve/Bucky, Supernatural, a lot but I've been drawing the same characters for years so, I'm a bit bored. I have tons of ideas but I don't feel like drawing them. 😝 I'm also more involved in personal projects: I'm working on an Oasis calendar just for me (like I did for Sherlock two years ago) so, as you can guess, 12 illustrations + the cover, it takes time. I'm also drawing food, to relax a bit.

3) I'm less interested in social networks at the moments. Tumblr is cool but Twitter and Instagram have become more aggressive lately, more bots, more trolls, more entitlement. Not to mention that apps like Instagram are now more focused on quantity than quality. They want you to create 10 reels a day so, as I'm a bit old school, "new Instagram" is not for me. 😝

Long story short, I draw less, but I still draw, just more for me and less for the Internet. However, I drew a tribute artwork for the anniversary of the death of Chadwick Boseman, I'll post it next week.

Don't worry about me, I'm just living my frog life.

Fandom is a better, more complete place because you have touched it.

It works the other way around too: fandoms (a lot of them) brought me so much from friends, to laugh, to inspirations, I really can't complain and I'm very grateful for all these years.

However, I'm not doing much at the moment to be honest. Well, for online fandom anyway. I'm working on an Oasis calendar for myself (I'm not satisfied with what I'm finding online) and I'm trying new textures. After years of trying to imitate oil painting with Photoshop, I'm now focusing on colored pencils for a change. 😁

Noel Gallagher's guitars are a nightmare to draw, particularly his red Gibson. Still better than the Supernatural Chevy Impala or the Iron Man suit, though. 😝

However, I don't really know what to draw next, I'll see. 😅 There's a John Singer Sargent exhibition at the Orsay Museum soon, it should inspire me to draw more nonsense with beautiful fabrics and embroideries 😝

I was also wondering if it would be all right to use some of the art as a desktop background? I just like looking at it, it makes me happy to see it. Totally all right to say no, of course, I just wanted to ask!

There's not a lot of art to come unfortunately, I've been spending more time outside of the house than drawing lately but I have a cool Dean artwork to post and also a portrait of pre-serum Steve Rogers. I hope you'll enjoy them. 💗

Don't worry about "getting there", you've got to start somewhere...and this is where I started 🤓

Please, enjoy this Saint Seiya fan art from when I was 11 or so, drawn at the back of a flyer that recommends to take care of your teeth 😂

You'll certainly go through tons of "phases" (from manga to realistic to comics then back to manga...etc...) and all these artistic adventures will create eventually a unique art style, your art style that you will love to hate, or just love...or just hate (from time to time 😂).

I wish you good luck. Just remember, when you will feel a bit of discouragement, that Rome wasn't built in one day and that before drawing Knight Bucky or even these guys from one of my favorite bands you had tons of wonky Saint Seiya fan art or even this...

....whatever the hell it is 😂 (don't throw away your old artworks, it's a never ending source of laughter)
