how hard would it be to overcome sag pluto (12h & retrograde) squaring your partner’s pisces mars (8h)?
More than overcoming, I think it's better to look into ways to work with that particular aspect because neither of you are truly going to be able to shake off the impact of pluto and mars in those houses. It's deeply rooted into both of your psyche and the square is likely something that triggered both in relatively uncomfortable ways.
For both cases, you need understanding and acceptance.
Firstly, you need to accept that your partner's energy can sometimes, more often than not, trigger parts of you that you both don't like and don't see in yourself. The 12th house is blinding as it is confusing, and the obsessive change that pluto grips can be something that keeps you up late at night. It isn't directly any of your fault, but there is going to be some fundamental difference between you and your partner that is going to push you to contemplate and deeply think about why. I would say you will need adequate time and space to yourself to reach your own conclusions, and perhaps the flipped deeper parts of your partner can almost feel triggering. The best way to heal this is by healing yourself through a connection with something greater than yourself/your soul.
For your partner, they will need to overcome fear, in a sense. I would say even your partner isn't fully aware of the trauma they possess due to the dissolving and illusionary nature of Pisces, with Mars being both in a weaker sign and in a decent house placement (mars sort of does better in malefic houses), there will be mirroring aspect between you two that might potentially trigger their "protect myself at all cost" response, not aggressive but more vaguely putting up walls.
I do think both of you need to heal issues that is directly related with your Jupiter, or anything in connection to Jupiter, and this connection is likely pushing you (though somewhat uncomfortably) towards the path of spirituality/or teachings in the greater run of things. They're asking for a greater intrinsic change from the both of you.
Hope that made sense. I tend to not do synastry much.
