Ohhhhhh I love this because I actually wrote Stay With Me back in 2024 with the idea they had met during the mudslide arc.

They don't meet immediately during the mudslide emergency. It's a few days after because Bobby had invited Tommy to lunch at the station. Buck is Buck and says something snarky to Tommy about "You're sitting in my chair" and Tommy being amused by it replies that it had been his chair first, which gives Buck all sorts of very confusing feelings.

Tommy kisses Buck the night before he gets the call to do deploy to help with the wild fires, but Buck still hasn't quite pieced together that he's bi yet beccauae he thinks its just Tommy that he's in towhen he leaves for Texas with Eddie and Hen. While in Texas he heavily flirtatiously with TK (subconsciously) the entire time. So when Tk brings up Carlos that makes things click for Buck about Tommy.

During the s5 Christmas episode they are together and have been awhile but they are both still freaking out (to Bobby) about what to get the other for Christmas. Buck gets Tommybtickets to a Lakers game and begs him to take "literally any one else but me" which is also how Tommy finally finds out more than a year into their relationship that Buck hates basketball. Tommy is the one who takes Bobby's suggestion and proposes on Christmas Eve.

When Buck is struck by lightning in s6 Tommy and Buck are both on shift. Air Support had been grounded due to the lightening but Tommy is still helping with ground control. He finds out about Evan being struck by lightening immediately because he hears Bobby's call about a 118 fire fighter being down because they had been struck by lightening. Tommy doesn't wait for permission he walks out of Harbor and meets the 118 at the hospital right as Buck is being taken back to the ICU.

Buck still has his weird "perfect world/daniel lives" coma dream. In his coma dream Buck's first inclination that something is wrong is when Daniel mentions his hot paramedic husband picking him up, and he doesn't really know why but he's disappointed that TK is the one who picks him up from the ER because it feels wrong and he's getting flashes Tommy smiling at him while sitting in his chair at the 118.

The vast majority of the uses of the word "roll" in my WIPs seems to be people rolling their eyes at each other so I looked for one that wasn't that lol.

He's standing there trying to envision it when the soft tap of boots on the stones enters his consciousness. He turns to look and sees as well and practically dressed man approaching, of fair complexion and easy confidence in his posture. His jerkin is of a fine grade of dark blue-dyed leather, with a house crest stamped into the shoulder and embroidered with silvery thread, his clothing beneath grey in alternately pale and dark shades.

Buck steps back, thinking to get out of his way, but the man eyes him with mild interest as he approaches. He nods to Buck in greeting.

"Well met."

"Good day."

"Are you here looking for work?" the stranger asks him. He's got a roll of fine paper in his hand that he's unfurling as he steps into the archway next to Buck, where he's stepped away from the advertisements for the expeditions and onto the side of the board designated for Barony work.

"I am, yes," Buck says, straightening quickly when he realizes he's being addressed directly. "Are you - have you brought a listing?"

"Indeed. My name is Bobby. I'm a squire for the Kinard Barony."

He says the name like Buck will know what it means, and he very much doesn't but he nervously nods as though he does, smiling as he tries to project some image of competence and employability. He gets very little off Bobby's face - he still just seems mildly pleasant in his expression. Perhaps shrewd as he studies Buck's face in return.

"Have you ever considered employment as a blood companion?"

"No," he blurts, trying to swallow back his reflexive horror and mortification at the idea being mentioned so casually. Maybe that's the way things are done in the city. He clears his throat and tries to sound like anything but the rural bumpkin that he is as he says, "Not really. Not that - it just hasn't come up before?"

Bobby smiles a little knowingly, like he sees right through Buck's attempt, but it's not unkind. He just nods easily and says, "Well, house Kinard is unexpectedly in the market for blood companion candidates."

"Oh?" Buck manages to say. "That's interesting."

"It is, isn't it?" Bobby says, his smile going a little more neutral. "But these things happen."

Buck has no clue what that means, but he can at least read the hint of warning there, so he agrees quickly, "I'm sure - life certainly has a way of surprising us."

"Hey May." Buck responded with a smile before turning back to Olivia, "I'm sorry but we simply can't match our previous quote with the changes you want to make. He is at the end of his rope. How many more ways can he be expected to say no before he's allowed to just cancel this god awful order.

"Yes you can. I'm friends with the owner, and he told me that you would honor your previous quote." The blonde argued stomping her foot. Buck exhaled slowly through his nose trying not to lose his patience. May stopped next to Buck handing him, his iced vanilla latte with oatmilk before turning to Olivia with a raised eyebrow and an overly polite smile.

"Oh, I didn't know you were friends with my dad. How do you two know each other?" May asked so tooth rottingly sweet that it made Buck's teeth hurt a little bit, or maybe it was from how hard he had been clenching his teeth. Olivia sputtered realizing she'd been caught in a lie. Buck was doing his very best not to laugh at how flustered the bridezilla looked. He always got a kick out of the way May handled people trying to claim they knew her step dad to get a discount.

Favourite extracurricular activity: Consuming media, preferably while knitting. Honestly, I love losing myself in a good story, be that a novel, a movie, comic books, or a TV show.

What hair products do you use? I have a pixie cut right now, so there's not a lot that I use. A two-in-one shampoo and conditioner and a little bit of gel on the days that I was my hair, and on the days between washes, I mist it with water, and then maybe use some salt spray texturizer.

Someone in your life, other than a relative, you've known for 10+ years My boss and my coworker would be the ones I see most often, and friends I don't see often enough would be @tumbleweedtech and @unforth, both of whom I met through Ravelry, and who I've met irl.

this is so funny because i’ve tried to explain it to cinda before but, less sweet maybe? the best comparison i came up with was Tim Bradford from the Rookie (if younger).

The fic I mentioned (that I meant to link in the original reblog, oops?) is Leading with the Left, which features stripper!buck, so i was expecting someone less wide-eyed and more hardened?

i don’t know. to me, buck, especially early seasons buck, just looks so much like he needs a hug and that he isn’t comfortable with himself / allowing himself to take up space and that just isn’t the impression i got from fic at all!

it’s also hard for me to say because i don’t actually picture things in my head so it’s more of a vibes thing than anything 🤣 i just didn’t expect my reaction to him to be “he needs cuddles” as much as it was, i expected more of a “he’s a badass”
