odette really wants to ask why the fuck dana had brought her as a guest to this thing. some kind of freaky, fancy people dinner party. though, even they weren't immune to murder, apparently.
she feels out of place here, awkwardly cradling her glass of wine while everyone crowds their way into the library behind her. she'd originally waddled her way in here for a semblance of loneliness ( too many humans, too many touching elbows ) that was now being accosted. all of these folks wanted to solve the case, something odette couldn't care less about, truth be told. she didn't know the guy! he was probably just another well off asshole, anyway.
head lifts to scan the newfound crowd that surrounds her, the remainder of her drink subsequently thrown back in a ploy to take the edge off. spotting plum, however, does alleviate the stress somewhat. seeing someone you knew did that to a person.
odette spends far too long staring at the back of his head, hoping it'd eventually translate into the professor turning around. sometimes you felt retinas burning into your skull, y'know?
eye contact, finally. it's cause for woman to worm her way over, brushing up alongside her companion and standing up on tippy toes to whisper in his ear. ❝ why 'da fuck did'ja invite me t' a fuckin' murder party, dude. ❞
