Yes it actually was like that. They wanted be able to have a choice and felt that Pixelberry did them wrong by assuming that everyone wanted to play as a woman so their complaints made them change the story in the beginning.
That’s lame, it was just a prologue that lasted like, idk, a minute or two You never see either of them ever again.. Honestly, I liked the original more.

I am so pissed. My MC dates him and now they are on a break. It was not her place to tell! And now James will go and cry on Yasmins shoulder and they will end up in bed and everything will be ruined.
James has no right to be mad at MC, especially if they’re dating. Cancer is deeply personal and when or if Vasquez decides to tell someone it’s his decision. The daughter has a right to be angry, but only that some random girl knew about her father’s condition before her. That’s it. AND THEN THERE’S JAMES?!?! Vasquez didn’t even want MC to know and she was respecting his decision, she can make suggests all she wants, but she can’t decide shit for him. Same here! I spend all my money on buying diamonds so I can play in the way I want and to be honest I couldn't give a fuck. Pixelberry deserves money and credit for all of the amazing stories they give us! Choices has made me totally hooked!
I don’t pay diamonds for things in Hollywood U anymore and I really only get the prom throne in High School Story once a month. So I’m okay spending diamonds for Choices since it’ll support the company.
They’re taking a risk with the game and they said they’re trying to release more content in the hopes that it’ll pay off in the long run. And I want them to succeed at that!
(Another story genre I didn’t consider. Superheroes. They did that a bit in Hollywood U.)Â
Yeah, Choices has me hooked. And I don’t mind the wait to earn keys, actually. It gives me a reason to check in frequently. I think the problem I have with HSS and HWU now is that I’ve gotten all of the available content. So when the weekly quests come out, I check in and play those for a few days and then I’m done.
