[ noun. ] the ability to manipulate, influence, and control coldness [ origin. ] from the latin term, frigus, meaning cold.

To be one with the cold is to escape all forms of heat. The user is one who is stern, true to themselves — their hearts locked away, frozen over. Melting is never an option for the frigiokinetic — because for every heatwave, there must be a ice storm to keep the balance. For every up, there must be a down. Thus is a way of life — this is the way for the cold one.

These users have the ability to keep the cold under their command, atomic kinetic energy slowed down to a point to allow the heat no room to call a place it’s home, a chill creeping up to keep one grounded and safe. They bend this world, knowing that not everything is sunshine and daisies. They are the preservers. They are the guardians. They are the ones to depend on when the fire has run out.

But they are fragile — fear can creep up to them and cause irrational outbursts. Negativity finding solace within the cold one, shutting the world and it’s welcoming arms out. They can be introverted, afraid of a social life. One sudden move and the ice can shatter within them — one has to be gentle with a frigiokinetic — lest they want their own hearts to freeze over as well.

SHORT SYNOPSIS

SO LISTEN, i made atlas’ bio and then i was like bro,, why does he sound like elsa lMAO .. so if you feel yourself singing let it go throughout this whole bio then dw?? like seriously atlas is like elsa and anna combined and i didn’t even mean for this to happen?? i dont even like frozen?? fml

ANYWAY !! atlas was actually born inside the facility, his surrogate mother actually a part of the staff as a psychiatrist. he had never seen the light of day just like he has never seen his mother’s eyes.

as soon as the boy was born, the scientists knew something was wrong. the room became frigid, their fingers tingling as if ice was building inside of their nerves. when atlas’ mother touched him, he actually froze her to death..

the thing was, the scientists weren’t even appalled?? they were ecstatic at the fact they had such a powerful being underneath their clutches. and how much of use he could be to the alpha team. there was one psychiatrist, his mother’s friend, however, who constantly told him once he was older that he was not to touch anyone. even if he felt like he had control of his power, he should not touch anyone unless he wanted to hurt them (fear-based threatening).

although atlas started becoming more in control of his power, he realized that if his emotions get out of control, so does his power? so he really fears his power and fears getting close to people.

PERSONALITY

he has the label of the facade because he comes off as this like whimsical, loquacious pure boy?? like everywhere he steps like happiness just grows dude. 

he hides the fact that his power can be so deadly, sometimes even lying that he only has like clairvoyance and nothing else. he trains alone.

he appears this way because he hopes that by shoving away negative emotions, he can keep his powers in check really. he also just genuinely loves people and wants people to like him back?? he wants to protect everyone and anyone.

he tends to pull back though A LOT. like he still doesn’t touch people and he doesn’t like opening up to people.

he feels this kind of fearful exhilaration in going to the outside world because he feels like for once in his life he’ll be useful.

he really likes the stars and hopes one day he’ll be able to see them?? 

WANTED CONNECTIONS

&. the anchor: this is the wanted connection thats on the main page but for people that are interested, heres a little bit about it !! this man is the one that literally keeps atlas in check, being by his side since they were kids. he knows about atlas’ power and has helped gone through times when atlas’ emotions got out of hand?? most definitely atlas’ first crush for sure. they’re pretty much each other’s cornerstones. 

&. fear: give me someone who saw his power and like literally is scared of him?? give me the ANGST i’m here for it

&. best friends: this is one of atlas’ most closest friends !! we can either have it that they know of atlas’ ability already or we can para like a time when they realize and take it from there !!

this is miles, he is a teenager, and an idiot.

born and raised in brighton, he’s totally one of those kids who “just wants to get out of this deadbeat town.” he is 100% convinced he’s going to be professional skateboarder even though he only lands a kickflip like half of the time.

he is a very typical Boy. he’s in a band with his best friend duncan rhodes, and they’re awful but don’t know it.

his parents own the Idylwood Family Stables, and he’s spent his life being dragged into helping snot-nosed kids learn how to ride a horse and spending his afternoons feeding various farm animals. we call him farmboy.

he was adopted at birth by the sweetest people in the entire world. the cuellars made a connection with miles’ mother, a pregnant teenager, in 1998 while delivering produce to a soup kitchen, and then literally adopted her child. they’re so sweet.

grew up without a lot of money, and is really grounded because of it.

he has a really weird lack of a sense of identity, though. just from like being adopted and not knowing much about yourself, and growing up in a family steeped in a heritage that isn’t really your own. 

he is a senior in high school and so nice to everyone. he’s really patient and thoughtful and simple and average, and he puts his faith in everyone even if they don’t deserve it. he wants to be everybody’s friend.

in love with the girl next door, audrey burke, even though she won’t give him the time of day anymore.
