The only things I have settled about Tor is his first name, his useless power, his lovable loser personality but a lot of him is open. Like his family background, surname, connections, and his face although I have few ideas in mind. Figured I’d toss up a little about & wants to see if anyone would like to develop some background/plot. If anything interests you or you think Torryn might fit one of your plots, please let me know!
Family: He has one. This area is wide, wide open and I would love for him to have some siblings with abilities, especially if these abilities are more impressive than Torryn’s bird powers. If you think Tor could fit into your family dynamic, let me know via comment or DM to discuss plot. Open to twins & half siblings too.
Life at school: Currently divided between Vox or Paragon, leaning toward Paragon; Torryn is very studious even if he hasn’t quite figured out the ins and outs of his abilities and thinks it’s generally useless. Still, he finds the academic side of these abilities fascinating and he very much identifies with the philosophy ‘When in doubt, go to the library’. Which is where you’ll find and he might even have a job there if that’s allowed. Would love some Study Buddies or an Academic Rival or for Tor to play Tutor to someone or vice versa.
Friends: Yeah, he has those too though he’s never been very popular so it would be a small group. Growing up he got labelled as a weirdo and a loser which he’s never been able to quite shake. At least in his head. Other views may vary. Would love to throw him into a lovable band of misfits or possibly work on plot where he becomes useful to someone/someone’s in a group and gets hanger on status. Perhaps a childhood friend he grew apart from and met again at the school?
He’d probably be labeled something of a goody two shoes if it wasn’t for his mouth and his occasional drinking benders. Both of those usually get him into trouble so it would be fun to have some friends who encourage his worst behavior or they both feed off each other that way. Essentially, some bad influences would be fun.
Romance: In my head he was dating someone and it ended about several months ago for reasons but he’s not over his ex-girlfriend so there’s some potential for tension/awkwardness if someone wants an ex at the school. Ngl I’m a sucker for friends with secret crushes and I think Torryn would make a good candidate to be oblivious to someone else’s feelings toward him. Then comes the fun of realization and trying to figure out if they should actually do anything about these feelings and ahhh, made up angst. Also cool with reversing this idea and having Torryn with the crush and the other person oblivious because character torture is fun.
Miscellaneous: Free will is important to him and it’s one of his hang ups about his abilities. Yeah, they’re birds but that still doesn’t make it right. Other abilities of the same vein of manipulation would prick at his moral side so I could see him butting heads with others with manipulation/control powers about the ethical use of abilities….yet he feels like a hypocrite too because of course he uses his powers too.
So after binging pretty much the whole first season of GoT over the weekend my muse has conceded to the idea of a Game of Thrones AU.
Where in Cloud doesn't hail from a house such as the Starks, Lannisters or Baratheons. I haven't decided his true origins yet - though I would like for him to be lowborn - sometimes these developments come to me the more I play with the ideas but he was once a member of the City Watch in Kings Landing with the hopes of making it into the King's Guard back when Aerys Targaryen ruled. When the war began to pick up speed and he was forced to choose a side, he chose that of the King, and paid for that choice when the throne was then seized by Robert Baratheon and the Targaryan's all but brought to extinction.
Removed from his post he was then given a choice, too low born to gain freedom from swearing fealty alone, it was either death or the Wall.
He would choose to take the black. But would that choice be better than death?

The muses discover a hidden underground and decide to investigate.
Inspired by: X, X, X and the general idea of places having underground tunnels that few people know.
Era: Open - historical, as long as the tunnels might exist at the muses’ time, or modern. Could adapt to Star Wars, Tolkien or others.

What’s there?: Who knows? Treasure, spooky stuff, a secret network of whoever, an abandoned base/laboratory, Gandalf shouting ‘You shall not pass!’?

Mistaken Identity
Muse A is assigned to impersonate someone important, as part of a decoy to lure out some kidnappers. Muse B is assigned to play their escort/protection and catch the bad guys if they show up.
Options: It’s not an assignment - the kidnappers come for their target but they mistake Muse A for the person and take them instead (Muse A might make this happen deliberately).
Era: Open, depending on the verse/AU.
Location: Anywhere there’s a biggish city that might have VIPs needing protection.
