#plot maps

My guess is an employee left there by accident. It's lucky each page is in a plastic sleeve, since it had been raining earlier. They're also lucky that I found it, since I will photograph the maps, and return the binder intact to the office.

I have wanted to see the plot maps for years, and this binder is an absolute treasure!

Let me share a few lovely details that caught my eye at first glance. I love some of the different fonts used over time, and finding the surveyor information is so cool!

I'm so excited for what this means for learning more about the history of this cemetery and those buried here! It'll be a huge help for Find a Grave requests, too!

I think what I need is trying a different approach to brainstorming, but as I said I can’t find blogs which talk about this and… I just don’t know what to do? It’s like I am inspired for this story, but maybe not enough. And I’m not even sure I explained this in the right way, I’m sorry. (2/2)

In The Plot Whisperer, the author goes over what your plot structure should look like. Plot Planners can help you pinpoint the goals you need to reach and where the gaps are to fill in. It’s okay to write in ‘idfk how to get from here to here’ because you’re just trying to create a basic framework. 

If you can’t figure out how to fill out your plot (and it’s okay not to know how to do that at first!), hammer out your character bios and their backgrounds. If you know how they got to Vague Idea, you suddenly know a lot more about where they could go.

Saw ur post about novel plotting and just wanted 2 add 2 it. I use a 3 panel presentation board (like the ones u see @ science fairs) 4 my plot map. I use sticky notes to outline the plot in the middle panel, use 1 side panel for a rough timeline, use the other for subplots (especially when I'm not sure about scene order yet). Great 4 getting a bird's eye view, super easy 2 rearrange things and write in extra notes in pencil, and you can close it up when ur done :)(sorry 4 grammar, stupid limit)

Except I just realized I have to move parts of it up and space them out better. Fuck.

But still, it's all done!
