WHERE: Utopia Club, Las Vegas, Nevada
WHEN: July 1963
It has been an exciting and hot week in Budapest, and our spies have packed for their departure. After The Weapons Expert’s arrest, Agent Marks successfully bailed them from jail despite detective Agoti’s insistence. MI6 arrived on scene to take agent Thursdays body and simultaneously took full jurisdiction for the case. All evidence has been confiscated and will be transported back to headquarters. A team will be assigned to investigate the death, and the Budapest police as well as the CODA team have been asked to let it go.
Vald’s interview with Sandra went successfully. He has been warned not to share any of the information he acquired, under the penalty of death. Sandra made it very clear that if Vald were to leak information assassins would be sent after him and whomever was told. While he has not been fully informed or initiated into Vronsky’s cause, but he has been invited to Russia to stay in Moscow and meet with Vronsky themself. However, this meeting is three weeks away and the team has another intriguing lead to follow in the meantime.
Bobby took it upon himself to break into Sandra’s hotel room after her meeting with Vald. Because he knew the room number this was quite easy. He had enough time to root through ehr personal belongings and find a notebook, filled with what appeared to be meeting dates. After being translated from coded russian shorthand by Henry, it was discovered that Sandra’s next location was Las Vegas. The words translated were ‘Apex’ & ‘Utopia’ and it was associated with the time and date 5pm Friday.
The team believes Sandra has arranged a meeting with Stewart Rundberg, of the Apex mining facility in Nevada. It is a top producer of uranium in the area, and it’s likely she’s making a deal with him to purchase some. As for Utopia, it’s likely a reference to the club on the Las Vegas strip where wealthy men go to watch dancers, gamble, and talk business. The team has been assigned with infiltratign this club to gather as much intel as possible. Klara and Lena have been assigned as dancers. Vald, Noah, and Harper are posing as guests. Henry, Levi, and Bobby are waiters. Hyunjin and Nila are working surveillance from the outside. Eden and Mortimer have been given the role of doorkeepers, meaning that they must not let anyone why isn’t on the list inside the building. Except, of course, their teammates.
The team has been assigned a new handler: CIA Agent Feng. She’s tough as nails and sharp as a tack, she offers no leash to those whom she suspects. She is keeping a special eye on Nila and Eden. Some know of a story that she once killed an agent she was supposed to be monitoring so that he would not reveal sensitive information. This may not be true, but it’s a widely accepted rumor.
Until the meeting next week the spies must be careful of keeping their cool and their cover. Feng will not hesitate to suspend anyone from the mission, and the Utopia club is known for housing a shady bunch. The team must gather as much information as possible before the meeting without arousing any suspicion.
THE OBJECTIVE: Infiltrate the Utopia club.
THE TIMEFRAME: One week.
