The Tonetti chapel in Plomin.
The nobles of the Tonetti family became the owners of the Kršan castle in 1860. The last owner of the castle was Giovanni Tonetti, called “Il conte rosso” (”The Red Baron”). Regardless of his status he supported the miners during the Albona Republic (Labinska republika).
The Albona Republic was a short-lived self-governing republic that was proclaimed by miners from Istrian city of Labin/Albona in 1921 during a mining strike.
