Glyphs by Kal Mansur, 16" x 16" x 2" acrylic constructions, 2014.
Kal Mansur creates acrylic sculptures that evoke both architectural space and distillations of movement via a seamless construction and manipulation of colour. Their blurred motions conjure a kind of speed. Transitions between opaque and translucent tones serve to make the surface of the work luminous. Form and line oscillate, creating a composition that seems to extend beyond the frame. The viewer is confronted with an integrated artwork, forcing the eye to consider the entire composition.
