“i’m here.” you said as you looked at your surroundings. “i’m coming, alright? where are you right now?” your college best friend, joshua asked you. “i’m near a bus stop and a convinience store. i’ll be waiting, you’re so slow.” joshua chuckles through the phone, “i’m sorry, okay? i’ll treat you as an apology.” joshua replied.
“whatever. just hurry!” you hang up. joshua asked you to come with him since he was going to a book festival and you agreed. you never thought joshua would be late at these kind of stuff since he’s always early in school.
since it was summer and the weather was so hot, you decided to go in the convinience store while waiting for your friend. while scrolling through your phone, you felt a figure in front of you.
you lifted your eyes away from your phone as you saw a man. he had angelic features and you can’t deny that he was attractive when you first saw him. you frowned at him as his eyes were fixed on you. you looked behind you but there was only glass.
“uhh...? are you alright, sir?” you asked “perhaps.. are you.. y/n?” he asked. your curiosity grew as you turned off your phone and kept it in your bag. you swore to yourself that you never met this man nor he didn’t look familiar at all.
“who are you?” you asked him as he smiles, “don’t you remember? it’s me! jeonghan, your childhood friend?” you eyes widened in shock as you covered your mouth with your hand.
you stood up from your seat as you smacked his arm. he held his arm as he winced in pain. “you bastard, yoon jeonghan. leaving me without saying any word? and now you’d come up to me saying-” “y/n, i’m sorry, okay? i was about to tell you but i forgot. please forgive me.”
“hey,” joshua walks in “you guys know each other?” joshua asks.
“no.” you answered.
“yes.” jeonghan answered.
you looked at jeonghan in annoyance. “oh hey, y/n! i forgot to introduce you to jeonghan. he’ll be transferring in our class next week.” your eyebrows creaseas you look at jeonghan who was smirking at you.
and winked at you.
“off to somewhere, jeonghan?” joshua asks, “not really. i’m about to head home. i must be bothering both of you.” jeonghan replies “ye-” “want to join us? were going to the book festival it’s just a walking distance.” you look at joshua in disbelief.
“of course!” jeonghan replies delightfully.
as the three of you arrived in the venue, it was loud and there were beautiful decorations hanging around. as the time passes, joshua was looking or the books he’d like to buy and read while you, you were skimming through the boks that caught your eye.
when you were about to get a book, another hand landed on top of yours. you looked up to see jeonghan. you cleared your throat as you snatched the book and opened a random page, pretending you’re reading it.
“are you seriously not gonna talk to me?” jeonghan asks boringly. “why would i?” you asked, “look, i already said i’m sorry. i’m really glad that i met you today.” you looked at him as he smiles.
jeonghan continued to talked to you even though you weren’t replying. when the day was done, you finally plopped yourself down your bed. when your eyes were about to fall, a notification from your phone bothered you.
hi it’s jeonghan! joshua gave me your number!
you lazily ran your fingers through the keyboard and turned off your phone.
hi?? you must’ve got the wrong number? i don’t know joshua nor you lol
it’s been months, which felt like hell for you because of jeonghan. he would always annoy you, tease you and do anything just to catch your attention. you would lazily ignore him but this day, he wasn’t even inching himself from you.
it’s not that you were complaining but the atmosphere felt slightly different.
“spacing out?” joshua asks as he sits across from your table. “is jeonghan alright?” you asked him as he frowns at you, “i thought you hated jeonghan? are you finally growing feelings for him?” you gave him a face.
“he’s okay. he told me that if you’re not gonna forgive him, he’ll stop teasing you.” you looked at jeonghan who was sitting with his other friends as you sighed.
“if i were you, i wouldn’t be ignoring him right now.” your eyes went on joshua who was munching on his burger. “if i were you i’d choose him.” you were visibly confused as joshua chuckles, “come on! don’t be such a brat!”
you glanced back on jeonghan’s table, he was seen nowhere. your eyes skimmed through the canteen as you saw him, leaving. you immediately got up from your seat and followed him.
“yoon jeonghan!” you called as he looked back at you, confused.
you walked towards him and he was frowning at you. “look, i’m sorry if i annoyed you for the past few months. i know, that was very wrong of me.” “no, i was wrong.” you cut him off.
“what?” he asked “ i should’ve not treated you that way.” you said as you reached out for his hands and caressed them, “i apologize.”
“can we start again?” jeonghan chuckles, “i don’t want us to start as friends.” it was your time to frown as jeonghan scoots closer to you.
“can you be my girlfriend this time?” jeonghan asks with a smile plastered on his face.
