Dune is an interactive landscape from Daan Roosegaarde that interacts with human behavior. This hybrid of nature and technology exists out of large amounts of fibers which brighten according to the sounds and motion of passing visitors. DUNE 4.2 is a permanent interactive landscape residing alongside the Maas River in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. This public artwork of 60 meters utilizes less than 60 Watts while intuitively interacting with its visitors; rendering the installation sustainable as well as cutting edge in construction. 'Dune' investigates nature in a futuristic relation with urban space by means of looking, walking and interacting.
Starting tomorrow, the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in the Netherlands. It will be held in four cities on unique locations. Temporary stadiums are built in special public spaces: - Apeldoorn: Market Square in the city centre. - Amsterdam: Dam Square, in front of the Royal Palace in the centre of the city - The Hague: an unique floating stadium will be built on the Hofvijver pond in front of the Dutch parliament buildings and a training facility in front of cityhall. - Rotterdam: Alongside cruise ship ‘SS Rotterdam’. The former flagship of the Holland-America overseas route will provide facilities such as a media centre, hospitality and overnight accommodation for players and special guests.Â

Collective Mentalgassi
German street art Collective Mentalgassi, recently teamed up with Mundano in São Paulo, Brazil, to create a series of illustrated characters cleverly installed against trash bins that have been made to look like backpacks. The project which was created for environmental and cultural group "Pimp my Carroça", aims to give more visibility to the trash bins scatterd troughout the city, helping the public embrace the importance of recycling and litter reduction.
We propose to give memory to Bristol's streetlights, enabling them to record and play back the shadows of those who pass underneath.
Light Memory enables interaction between people who share a space. Interactions could be as simple as walking together, yet more complex ones could occur - a wave hello, a hop, or a dance.

"Press Play - or ‘Toca Aà – is a project that creates musical interventions that activate public spaces. Based around impromptu and transitory moments of collaborative musical play, Press Play links strangers to each other, individuals to urban space and creates moments of surprise, delight and connection.
Press Play works by installing simple, touch sensitive panels in any public space. Each sensor is programmed with a channel of a musical track, which will play when touched. Multiple sensors can be touched to play more layers of sound, but to play a whole piece, to remix music, or improvise with sounds, it is essential for several people to play together."
