Many plants that are overly wildcrafted (wild harvested) for commerce. A plant gets popularized and PLANT LUST begins which impacts the plants. Becoming familiar and learning about which plants are on this list we can help protect the plants. Over wild harvesting along with climate change has had an impact on the plant communities. • • United Plant Savers is an organization made up of plant folks who are raising awareness and protecting the plants through education. Through seed saving, replanting these native plants in their natural habitat, growing/cultivating they are helping preserve the plants so that they will be around long after us! Wecan be part of this by becoming members www.unitedplantsavers.org • • Other ways we can help protect the plants is NOT purchasing ones that have been sourced in the wild. Looking for companies that are ethically sourcing like @mountainroseherbs or organically growing/cultivating their own medicinal plants like @oshalafarm DO OUR OWN RESEARCH & not support companies who are sourcing from the wild. • • We can share this with others, talk to our local co-ops, health food stores, boutique shops where we see these plants being sold, NICELY letting them know the status of the plant and question where the plants are sourced. • Plants & fungi like #Chaga White Sage, Ghost Pipe, Echinacea, Black Cohosh .... (just to name a few) many of these plants that are sought after for energetic and medicinal use, just know that there are other plants NEAR YOU that grow close to you that can have similar if not the same medicinal actions, properties and energetics.
