I began writing about what it means to be a phytanthrope to me today and began by trying to define what have “plantity” (think animality but with plants) is like. As I wrote however, I found myself simply echoing and mirroring descriptions of what animality is for therians and the only difference being that I substituted plants in for animals. Here is a piece of what I have written thus far: "Plants do not think, they simply do. Plants grow their roots down into the Earth and the branches up toward the Sun. Plants take in sunlight in their leaves and nutrients through their roots. That in essence is what plantity means. Its being straightforward in existence. The plantistic part of my brain is very simple, limited in lofty and critical thought. Its all about present. Its being Earth bound, present bound. Centered in the physical, and beyond the complexities of higher thinking. In this state, things like language, culture, and history are beyond thought. Its about here and now. The world and reaction to it. Plantity is primal. It is uncivilized and uncultured. Its wild and being part of that wild. Its the deepest, most basic, most intuitive and innate natures and needs brought forth. It is the core which drives them in response to the world around them." This raw rambling of mine is actually homogenous to how I’ve seen therians such as Savage, Akhila, Quil, Meirya, and others describe animality. This paused by writing and made me wonder. Is there such a thing or difference between animality and plantity? Are they merely the same thing with merely a different skin? The animality of a mouse therian is surely different in tones from the animality of a lion therian. Perhaps that is the same between a phytanthrope and therianthrope? I am now seriously wondering why pytanthropes cannot be members of therian community if our expereicnes are really so similar. - Darahagh
