how's the publishing stuff going??
hey Jen! I have been busy with things as of late as well as trucking along with personal things. For the past two months, I've been slammed with a comic for an anthology project (which, thankfully, is finished), starting a storyboard class online, and revising an outline for a graphic novel pitch that my agent and I will be submitting soon. Outside of that, I've been going through waves of exhaustion, executive dysfunction, and other life hurdles that have been challenging to navigate through, but I am overall well :)
Thank you for checking in on me, Jen! Honestly, I've been feeling very guilty for not being talkative online with my friends and mutuals due to the workload and mental stress, but I have to trust that I'm always welcome to arrive when I can :)

okay i’m sorry but some of the comments i get on fics w major character death are just so funny y’all are so mad at me hfdsljf. i have also enjoyed the comments on my tangled au, after the way the last chapter ended i had so many people saying something along the lines of “i knew it was coming.........im still mad at you”

I used photoshop cc18 and the frame animation function :) I made a bunch of identical frames of the image and then adjusted the opacity of various layers frame by frame to make it go dark, make the lights glow, make the text flicker etc etc. (For the glowing lights I painted on a bunch of warm colours using the brush tool, then smudged the strokes and played around with the ‘soft glow’ layer setting.) It’s a little hard to explain because it really was just 3 hours of me trying a bunch of different stuff (messing around with opacity, settings etc) and seeing what looked good haha. If you have any like specific questions I’d be happy to try and answer them in as much detail as I can, but really a lot of gif making is just trial and error. side note: if you’re new to making gifs with photoshop, if you search ‘gif tutorial photoshop’ there are loads of brilliant resources that cover using things like frames, timelines, layers etc etc. Everyone has a slightly different method so there’s lots to choose from out there! (and as always you can message me with any queries n I’ll help however I can <3)
